Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, chocolate, grain an floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a chocolate finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading. Mahogany in hue with a thick creamy head. Oak and fake chocolate and roasty malt and pepper and dryness and- oh dear- some quite aggressive leafy grapefruit hops that really don’t go. No, really not impressed by this, it’s very unbalanced. Rather watery too by the end. Not a good mild, think they’ve rather missed the point of a mild here. More like a really crap, weak black IPA. I don’t like it. Much as I like US hops, brewers need to realise that just shoving them willy nilly into every beer doesn’t always work. beer_est_deus (1316) - örebro, SWEDEN - APR 17, 2014

JDW, Rochester. Strong but not aggressive dark roast flavours. Just a bit too bitter for my taste - I would prefer a bit more sweetness. DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2015 1)Spoonsfest #37, The Babington, Derby, 11/04/14. Heavy ruby swathed with beige. This is good; soft smoked chocolate and tobacco; Imperial Leather and lactic alkalinity, good roasted nut finish. Nose is roasted veg, D&B, oak and malt loaf. Elegant little sipper. 747414,
2) The Felix, Nuneaton. Sneaking lychee nose with molten Neopolitan aspects and barely a puff of coal dust. Deep layered ruby with a tight cream foam lacing ornately with each sip. Mild leaning towards BIPA with shavings of bitter chocolate, cocoa, blueberry and delicate lychee hop. Let’s call it New World Mild. Almost a perfect sessions beer showcasing everything great about British cask beer and Pacific hops one handy pint size package.

Aroma: light caramel, bread and toasted malts, hay. Appearance: dark clear brown, almost black, small beige creamy head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: bitters coming up quickly but don’t get too intense, toasted notes. Overall: decent Mild, quite like the aroma. Pint at the Willow Walk, Victoria.
