COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by slackers, sweaters, eccentric friends and exotic drinks. This decadent chocolate milk stout has been a year in the making and has been piloted and tested at the brewery countless times to ensure its quality. The final masterpiece pours midnight black and is capped with a tan pillowy head. Eight different malts and whole vanilla beans create flavors of chocolate and espresso, offering a perfect way to mellow out after a rough set on the lanes.

Bottle shared. Pours a dark cola brown with little head. A rather nice aroma of vanilla and creamer over choc and coffee, dark malts. Flavour follows suit, a heap of vanilla, thankfully I like that, not too sweet. Medium bodied stout with a falling away of flavour in the back half, a bit acrid and fizzy whereas a smoother richer fuller stout might’ve embraced the flavour notes in a more satisfying way. Tasty enough.

Draft at Ray’s Other Place. Dark brown color with a small head. Nice sweeter roasted and chocolate malt aroma and flavor. Plenty of vanilla. Lactose as well. Really nice sweet stout.

Light brown color, modest head, nice fragrance and creamy sweet smoke taste. Some hops help but comes across a little thin and acidic at end.

22oz bottle pours a viscuous black with some swirling white head. Nose has vanilla, chocolate, malt, caramel. Flavor follows, huge vanilla, chocolate, malt, molasses. Thick, full bodied finish.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body, about 75% opaque with a very thin and fast-dying light brown head. Aroma of sugar, lactose, vanilla, roasted malt and a touch of alcohol. Meidum-bodied, at best; Strong roasted malt flavour up front with a lot of vanilla and grain, some yeast, light chocolate and more sugar on the finish, mostly from the pungent lactose. Aftertaste shows some grain, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and vanilla with a lot of lactose and unfinished sugars and a very thin malt note throughout. Overall, a pretty decent beer with a much lighter body than I expected and a decent complexity, but fairly typical for the style. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia a block away on 17-November-2016 for US$7,99 sampled at home in Washington on my youngest daughter’s second birthday party on 08-January-2017.
