Draft at the ’Shroom. Dark, almost brown, with light froth. Very metallic tones throughout, an undertow of caramel and toffee. I don’t get any orange at all. Aged on baseball bats? Hmm. (#6276, 8/13/2016) Luvystypotables (2099) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - SEP 7, 2015
Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Pours a clear amber color with a short lasting white well laced head. Delicious taste of malt and hops with a medium body and a bitter finish. kidobutai (700) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUL 27, 2015
Poured from a can. Short lived head. Cloudy amber color, orange peel taste, bitter at the end. Travlr (26406) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 7, 2015
Draft. Clear bright golden color. Aroma of summer fruit and subtle bats (just kidding). Taste is bitter, tannic, fruity, with a dry finish. One of the many Homefront beers I’ve seen and one of the best bat beers I’ve ever had. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Tap @ Secco. Golden orange with generous cream head and decent lacing. Smells a tad bubble gummy and a tad like cilantro. Not too sweet, moderately bitter. Feels crisp and clean and fairly light to me, moderate dry bitter finish.

Bomber. Near clear orange pour with fair layer of offwhite head. Wonderful aroma of grapefruit and curacao. Flavor is a spicy lemon zest and bright resinous hop character. Hoppy orange peel bitterness on the finish. Almost too bitter to be sessionable. The bats must mainly be a gimmick because I can’t detect anything that they add to the beer. But I would be very interested to sample the base beer side by side with the ’batted’ version. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Nice cause. The Louisville Slugger bats I think are entirely for fund raising purposes, but still a nice idea. Medium orange, clear. Aroma of citric hops and slight caramel malt. Flavor matches, hops are grapefruit and a hint of pine. Touch of orange as well, don’t know if that is the orange peel or the hops, but it is nice. Enjoyable, solid IPA. Bomber from Whole Foods Market Short Pump. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus hops with a mild wood note. The taste is bitter citrus hops, pale malts and mild wood. Medium bodied. Foxbush (2140) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 25, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2014 Draft at The Diamond in Richmond, Va This is a one-off ale that all the proceeds go to the HomeTown project for wounded servicemen. This was served in a 32 oz cup. It is the one beer to have for nine innings. Great color of light amber and white head.. The bitterness is well balanced with caramel malts. The citrus aroma of the hops is noticed on the nose and in the taste. The medium body ale had average carbonation. The finish was smooth with the lingering bitterness in your upper mouth. June 2014 Another from their cans had a large foamy head and lacing down the glass. A well balanced IPA with bitter citrus on the upper mouth.
