COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pilsner malt and German Munich and Caramunich malts are the backbone of this beer. The rich toasted and bready flavors imparted by the Munich malts are balanced with a sharp but balanced bitterness imparted by the imported German hops. The result is a German Alt-style beer that is both malty and easy drinking. The Virginia Ale is 5% ABV and has approximately 40 IBUs.

Bottle. Appearance: clear copper with off white head. Aroma: bread, dough, cereal, grass, one the brighter side of "earthy". Taste: malty cereal, breadiness, toast, some floral hop notes. Mouthfeel: fairly thin with low to medium carbonation. Overall: it’s okay. Not my style but solid for the style; very easy drinking but nothing that stands out.

Can. A clear, amber colored beer with a small, dense, off-white head. Meaty, roasted aroma with toffee and some generic fruityness in the aroma. Some dried apricots too. The flavor too is on the meaty side, with caramel and a fruity touch. Some sweetness, and a decent bitterness. Medium body, dry and pleasantly carbonated. Bitter, meaty finish. Overall, pretty decent, but a bit too meaty malty. 140118
