750 mL bottle. Looks the part. It pretty much has the prototypical caramel sweet\hoppy aroma of an ASA. And in all honesty, this is fairly prototypical. Which isn’t a bad thing. It is, perhaps, less sweet up front, and more bitter in the finish, than most. Also not bad things. just a well constructed, well executed beer.,

Hits the style spot on. I had several of these from the LCBO despite the not so friendly price point. A great collaboration from two decent breweries. No flaws I could find. I have really enjoyed flying monkey products, they take risks and do produce some duds but they hit this one on the nose. If you like ASA’s pick it up if you ever get the chance. Hopefully it did well enough to rise up again!

Poured from bottle. Clear amber color with tan head. Aroma fruity. Flavor; caramel, cocoa, soapy tones. Full body, moderate carbonation. Sweet in beginning followed by pleasant bitterness which lingers in aftertaste.

Super dark red pour, huge fluffy, sticky off white head. Lovely citrus aroma, big notes of pine, and some sticky chewy malts. The hops are pungent, and sticky, and quite bitter. the mouthfeel is sticky, and thick, the carbonation is a little low and soft. the finish is highly bitter, big notes of grassy, citrucy hops. The malts are thick with caramel, and bread. A big hoppy red ale, nice stuff.

Bottle. Aroma has quite strong hops (grassy, herbal, noble) with decent caramel and alcohol notes. Clear reddish amber colour. Taste has quite strong sweetness with caramel and light candy, in conjunction with high hoppy bitterness. Nicely balanced and nicely drinkable, overall very nice beer.

Dark ruby red complexion with a thin, beige foamy head. Oak, sweet malt, fresh bread and slight hops to the nose. Flavor is tart, tangy at first, as time goes on, a breadier hoppier character emerges and finishes dry. Velvet mouthfeel, long-lasting bitter-sweet aftertaste.
