Dark ruby red complexion with a thin, beige foamy head. Oak, sweet malt, fresh bread and slight hops to the nose. Flavor is tart, tangy at first, as time goes on, a breadier hoppier character emerges and finishes dry. Velvet mouthfeel, long-lasting bitter-sweet aftertaste. stantheman (1079) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 8, 2013
On tap at the brewpub in Surrey, and bomber purchased at Liberty Wine Merchants on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. Dropped in for a glass at Crit’s recommendation, and it’s a doozy! The first thing one naturally notices is the deep red colour. A nice beige head on it’s shoulders as well. Hops and fruit on the nose. It’s very much like an imperial IPA, but with more fruit. I can’t tease out the fruit flavours here, but there’s an impression of raspberry and other berry fruits. Delicious!

Note: Description on Ratebeer lists alcohol content at 8.5%, whereas my bottle label says 9.5%. I sent in a correction, but no change so far.
Thank you JefVerstraete! Tasting glass from 750 ml. bottle consumed @ “The Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)”. Hazy red / brown / amber, little head. Nose is caramel, tad herbal bitter, sticky sweet with bitter peel. Taste is bitter peel with thick syrupy malt base, herbal hops, chewy malts & sugar, bitter finish. Substantially thick. Tastes like a hoppy barley wine more than anything else, quite enjoyable even though I’m not big on fresh hoppy barley wines. Gurthnar (5918) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 5, 2014
Bottle. Aroma has quite strong hops (grassy, herbal, noble) with decent caramel and alcohol notes. Clear reddish amber colour. Taste has quite strong sweetness with caramel and light candy, in conjunction with high hoppy bitterness. Nicely balanced and nicely drinkable, overall very nice beer. Poured from bottle. Clear amber color with tan head. Aroma fruity. Flavor; caramel, cocoa, soapy tones. Full body, moderate carbonation. Sweet in beginning followed by pleasant bitterness which lingers in aftertaste.

Apparently there were two batches of this produced, the first at the Central City Brewery in Surrey B.C. and the second at the Flying Monkeys brewery in Barrie Ontario. This is a 750ml bottle from the latter.
Pours a coppery red, with an off-white head that is leaning towards the red spectrum.
Aroma is mainly fruity hops.
Tastes of fruity hops, caramel malts, with some burned sugar sweetness, and hints of both bananas and red berries.
Found this to be both delicious and quaffable, but beware of the high ABV. Crit (4024) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 31, 2013

On tap at London Pub. Clear amber, minimal cap. Consistent lacing. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, raisin, prunes, hay. Taste is more raisin & prunes, caramel, grapefruit, pine. VERY smooth drinking. 9.5%? This could easily get ya in trouble. Cuso (8728) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 5, 2014
