3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Imperial IPA for Autism:
Strong citrus and spicy pine hop notes complement the thick chewy toffee and caramel malt aromas in the nose. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by a decent off white head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Flavour features all the elements of the aroma but comes down a bit on the sweet side. Medium body is slightly watery with somewhat low carbonation. I’d prefer stronger carbonation or a thicker maltiness to take this to the next level. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle purchased at Crosstown Liquor Store downtown in March 2013.
Pours a burnt orange color. Strong resin aroma as well as grapefruit. Taste is dry and bitter. Grapefruit and pine notes with some tropical fruit. dchmela (3070) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 13, 2016
Bottle from Steve. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma is fruity hops and dank malt. Bigmalt body, dank fruity hops in the taste. Nice brew. blackmetal (236) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 29, 2016
Doesn’t have as much punch as you’d think, but yet doesn’t contain the diversity of flavours you think it might. Sockir (1) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 31, 2016 does not count
One of these will be enough to get you going at 9%. Nicely hopped ale that competes well with Fat Tug and Moody Sociable CRock (259) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2016 Amber in colour big head that disappears quickly. Grapefruit and malt on the nose and like others have said, some tobacco notes as well. Gotta say, this is one of the worst imperial IPAs I?ve had. I?m really not impressed with this. Pretty big disappointment, especially because it?s a 60 ml bottle.

Strong aroma of resin and some grapefruit. Taste is bitter and hoppy, balanced sweetness in the middle, finished with a resin character and alcohol. Good iipa well made. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2016
Amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is a little bit sweet and piny. There’s a bit of sweet pine and a bit of light fruit as well. A bit sweet and sticky on the back. Sticky finish with a bit of white pepper. A bit of a simple brew. Could have more hop character. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JUN 22, 2016
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2016 Despite not finding a date, well, oh, okay, here’s the rest poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark red/burnt close to brown sort of color with a slim sort of semi-finger-ed sort of white messy head. Lacing was few and far between.
The smell started off with the sweet caramel/toffee malty backbone covering a slight sweet to dry sort of tobacco aftertaste and finish.
The taste was mostly the same with the same sort of dry/sweet almost "tobacco" sort of flavoring coming about.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it.
Overall, damn nice beer that I would have again. Canmoore (483) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 22, 2016
Pours a clear amber, with a large creamy head. Aroma has notes of citrus, passion fruit, pine, and mango. Tasting notes include pine resin, chewy malt, bland orange, bitter finish. A little disappointed by the taste, not very clean on the palate. Bitterness is not front and center, the taste is not as complex as the nose would suggest. Decent. From a 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with an ecru head. Grassy nose. Flavors of pine and caramel. Bitter finish.
