Caramel, spruce, and papaya. Clear amber with a thin white ring. Woody and hoppy with a bit of alcohol. Ferris (16709) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 15, 2013
Draft - Sweet grapefruit well balanced with malts. Clear copper with a thin head. Dry and oaky with a bitterness from the hops. Resin and grapefruit are there, but the oak is dominant. Not bad, but the Oak is a bit raw and overwhelming. mcberko (19175) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 22, 2013
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear copper with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of oak wood chips upfront, with the citrus and floral hops still punching through, along with a pronounced malt sweetness. Flavour brings out a wonderful oaky wood flavour upfront, combined with the floral hoppiness so expertly. The marriage of oak and hops here is magnificently done! There is a mild malt sweetness that holds things together. Finishes on notes of oak and floral hops. An awesome version of the classic Red Racer IPA!
