355ml can. Golden colour. Has a soapy white head that dies down quickly. Nose has some pine and orange peel citrus hops, rather soft aroma. Hoppy flavour, notes of pine and sharp grapefruit, some background malt sweetness. Finish is bitter with citrus lingering in the back of the throat. Medium body and carbonation. Decent APA. mar (5434) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 18, 2010
can thanks to thirdeye11. poured a light amber with a cream head. nose is clean and fresh hops. very easy on the palate, light fruity hops, and a clean finish. Bendrixian (1514) - Canadiana, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 6, 2010
decent head, kinda malted in colour. Has a very malted lager like nose to it for me. some fig and some caramel. not very distincitve but fairly expressive at the same time. Almost vegetal as well. nice medium bodied brew with a fairly fast finish. not overly exiting but decent for its fairly low hopped style that it is.

355ml can. Pours bright copper with an almost white head that leaves a decent little lace. The nose is dominated by notes of cereal grains with a little sugar and resiny hops hiding underneath. More cereal grain on the palate with a mild hop bitterness to the finish. I expected more after trying their IPA. kbutler1 (1381) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 25, 2010
Can courtesy of drabmuh from BA.
Pours a slighlty hazy orange color with a nice 1 finger head of tiny tight packed white bubbles.
Not nearly as aromatic as the IPA, the Pale Ale has some floral type notes along with malt.
The taste on this is kind of a disappointment compared to the IPA as well, I mean what happened? This beer just kind of comes out flat as in the hop flavor is somewhat lost as is the malt backbone. Slight sweetness up front followed by minimal bitterness from the hops. Has an odd off taste as well. Medium mouthfeel.
Overall, not the best example of an APA. I’d go with their IPA anytime though.

12 oz can at Bar Volo, served in a tulip. Pours clear golden with a tall, frothy white head. The head fades slowly to a thin cover. On the nose, aromas of straw, flowers, grass, resin and honey along with a little funk. The flavour is moderately bitter throughout, and this is balanced against a slight sweetness. The finish is average and hoppy. On the palate, it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent pale ale with a nice aroma of resiny, floral hops. The can was an initial turn-off, but it turned out to be a decent beer. 2010-08-21 porterhouse (1580) - Boothbay, Maine, USA - AUG 17, 2010
(Can from Rum Runner) Pours light amber with three fingers of foamy off-white head. Aroma is fresh, sweet and fruity, with hints of caramel and pine. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, light bodied, some light pebbliness. Lots of foamy patches of lacing. Flavor of mild, sweet fruit and caramel with bitterness building on the back end leading to a medium-mild bitter bite in the finish. Spab (3973) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2010
355 ml can from Premier Wine & Spirits (Halifax). Pours a clear orange colour with small-medium sized white head. Citrus hops and crystal malt aroma. Similar taste although hops really dominate. Light-medium body. Moderate, slightly spicy bitterness in finish. Good. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 28, 2010
Pale orange, decent head. Aroma is sweetish malts and a grapefruit citrus hop. Flavor matches, decent balance. Not much to say here, just sort of a standard APA. Nice that it is available in a can though. JulienHuxley (5886) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 24, 2010
Can. Nice caramel colored pour with white head. Light citrusy aroma, white grapes and something a bit metallic. Taste is malty, slightly fruity with just a bit of bitter hop presence. Palate is quite carbonated, overly so. Decent and refreshing, but don’t go out of your way.
