Red Racer Pilsner is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley, and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour, with a dry, crisp finish.

What’s Inside:

Really inviting floral and lightly spicy hop nose is supported by a pleasant, lightly grainy malt profile. Brilliantly clear golden body is topped by a slight, white, fine bubbles head that lasts well and leaves some lace. Flavour is as the aroma promises - plenty of floral and spicy hops, moderate bitterness and lovely cereal, grainy malt character. Medium light body with fairly strong, lightly prickly carbonation. Really reminds me of Christofel Blond which is a personal favourite. Well done! Enjoyed on tap as Gary Lohin (of Red Racer)’s Hoppy Pilsner at the Alibi Room.

Can. Ah, make we the most of what we may yet spend, Before we too into the Dust descend; Dust into Dust, and under Dust to lie, Sans wine, sans song, sans singer, and sans end.

Solid pilsner with added tastes of apple, grain and a touch of brown sugar. Clean and smooth and nicely balanced

Can from LCBO. There was a time (when I first had their ipa years ago) when I'd be excited to get access to Central City brews. Fast forward a few years & a couple of iffy marketing attempts like their seasonal mix packs (or the poorly done across Canada collaboration) & I'm now hesitant to throw the $ down for their beer. It almost feels like they are begging to be bought up by a larger corporate concern -- hey, maybe InBev ratebeer Inc will buy them! Regardless, this is flacid Canadian pils that misses most key pils characteristics (I'm one of the few hop heads who really likes a good pils) & just offers this blunt & sweet lager. Look elsewhere for a trad pils or a new take on the style.

Can. Clear golden body, big white head with average retention and some lacing. Aroma of hay, grains, corn, flowers and poached pears. Taste of grains, grassy hops, lemon zest and some fruity sweetness. Above expectations.

Delicate malt aroma with notes of bread and cereal as well as a more assertive floral and spicy hop aroma. Straw coloured beer with a white head. Austere and bitter taste with a bit of malt sweetness to balance - somewhere between the German and Czech styles of pils. The body is light and refreshing, and the bitterness of the finish reflects the hoppy character of the aroma.

Can - pour a protein-hazed pale straw color with an ample 2 finger rocky white cap which laces well, Aroma is floral-spice over biscuity Pils malts. Bright sharp character with a good hop bite. Starts biscuity with grassy-spice hop balance then goes to a clean crisp increasingly bitter finish with a hop bite at the end. Very serviceable domestic craft Pilsener refreshing and sessionable

From the summer mixer pack. Pours an average amount of frothy, egg-shell white head and has a clear, yellowish straw coloured appearance. Leaves thick lacing. Wheaty and grainy malt aromas with a little bit of a herbal hop scent. Light citrus hop flavours with a bit of a tangy finish. Some more grainy malts and a faint sweetness to it. Pretty weak carbonation. Light bodied mouthfeel with a crisp drying sensation. Actually quite refreshing. More character than many other pilsners I’ve had.

Where and how: can 473 ml @ home
Aroma clean, some citrus, some spice with fruity pear like behind.
Appearance : 3.2/5
Top: medium top , average life some lace on glass
Base: fine haze on pale gold
Palate : medium thinner bodied, lower carbonation, shorter end
Taste: chewy, chalky with somewhat muted character. Hint of cooked veggies. Golden flat malt character. Behind floral hops. Let down.

LCBO can. What they call a pils in Canada. Not much hop flavour, a bid above a macro of same style. Cheese in nose. So-so drinkability.

GlennHendry (527) - OSHAWA, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 2, 2017
Has the classic grainy, spicy aroma of a German Pilsner. There are floral and light citrus hops in there too. Nice finish. Well done.
