Johnsense (1734) - - MAY 21, 2017
Murky brown pour, no head, no lacing. Plus, brown sugar, lighter Bourbon notes in the smell and taste, light oak. Medium body, virtually still.

BlackHaddock (7563) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2017
330ml bottle from Duffman, joint trade with minutemat and myself, cheers Duffman. Shared with Mat on 20th March 2017. Slight haze to the amber/brown body, the head a wispy, light tanned affair. Richness, booziness and singed sugars all came to mind as I smelled and sipped this very pleasant beer. Bourbon flavours creep up on you and the alcohol level seems to rise because of it.

minutemat (5938) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2017
330ml bottle from trade with Duffman, many thanks! Shared with Blackhaddock. Pours a deep amber, thin tan head. Aroma is kinda sweet, light bourbon, faint sour. Taste is quite gentle, moderately rich, not too sweet, good melding of caramel and bourbon flavours. Enjoyable and not as intense as others of its ilk.

AirForceHops (7676) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 17, 2017

Alpha10 (814) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2017
2017/02/01 - Pours a hazy amber brown colour with a this, soapy, cream coloured head that quickly dissipates and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet toffee, brown sugar, lots of dried dark fruit (raisins, figs, prunes), with light oaky vanilla, bourbon and bready yeast. Taste is more raisins and figs, brown sugar, sweet toffee, clove, bready yeast, oaky vanilla and bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with smooth carbonation and a moderately sweet, dry, warming finish. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 330ml. [2014 vintage] Pours hazy mahogany with low to no head. Aroma is of sweetness, fruits, bread. Taste is of bread, sugar, alcohol, bitterness, earth. Palate: Full bodied, medium carbonation. Overall: Good but quite boozy. Tasty.

AgentAle (1806) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 3, 2017
Aroma is caramel, toffee, fig, roasted malts and some sweet bourbon on the tip. Taste is rich sweet malts, caramel, toffee and tea leaves. Slight clove on the tip and a hint of alcohol. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

cmacklin (1272) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 20, 2016
330ml bottle. Pours a murky deep dark mahogany with no head. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, bourbon, figs, raisins, plums, brown sugar, oak and a hint of nuts. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, brown sugar, figs, raisins, plums, vanilla and oak with a warming bourbon finish. Full body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A pleasant surprise. This was actually pretty good.

mathieuc (4000) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 8, 2016
Pours a pretty clear red with a thin beige head/rim that leaves good lacing. Nose is of caramel, vanilla, bourbon, coconut and slight oxidation. Taste is more bourbon, caramel with some buttery angles now. Sweet but not too sweet, just right for such a brew. A little boozy as well. Body is medium-full, carbonation moderate and mouthfeel is a little syrupy. The alcohol gets to you after a while, this could certainly be 2-3% less ABV. A big beer that I found enjoyable but I’m not sure I could drink a full bottle to myself.

czar (9334) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 6, 2016
bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks bro! (2014 vintage) pours cloudy medium dark brown with a small beige cap offering some retention and lacing. rubber, sweet fruity caramel - few rotten red fruitiness though; cardboard and plastic, sweet bourbon barrels - coconut; chocolate powder, stinging alcohol. moderate carbonation - foamy at first; medium body - oily; sweet, boozy and woodsy-spicy finish. very american in its treatment - sweet bourbon rubber barley wine. o-k.
