Bottle shared by Countbeer, thanks! Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown to dark brown colored head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, lightly a hint of raisins, dark chocolate, cocoa, mocha, quite some bourbon. Taste malts, roasted malts lightly, liquorice, quite some liquorice bitter and bourbon. Medium body and carbonation. Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 30, 2015
Brown head. Almost black beer.
Aroma of mocha, chocolate, fudge, cacoa, bourbon, pudding, vanilla, smooth roast, some toffee and wood (roast) sweet but not overly sweet. Dessert like, both in aroma and flavour!
Flavour is light spicy with mocha, rubber, wood and malt roast, caramel, fudge, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, bitters, toffee, vanilla, sweet earthy and some herbal roast tones.
Aftertaste is mocha, chocolate, some herbal and wood roast, light coffee and bitters.
Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, full bodied. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 5, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2013 Bottle at Armin’s with friends, courtesy of Armin. Pour is murky brown with a small tan head that quickly dissipated. Raisins, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, coconut, bourbon, and earthy aroma. Taste is anise, coconut, caramel, brown sugar, heavy bourbon, light cocoa, and roast. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Nice stuff, but a bit too dominated by the barrel to be world-class IMO. arminjewell (9585) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brings notes of big dark cocoa, dark coffee, chocolate, hints of nice vanilla, oak, bourbon, slight coconut, nice. Taste is a mix of nice coconut, vanilla, bourbon, hints of oak, nice chocolate, touch of roast, coffee, finishing fairly bitter, dry, nice oak and sweetness. Totally worth the hype. Had on tap at Local Option. Served in a snifter. Had next to CW15.
A: Pours a dark black color with a dark tan head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves no lace down the glass. Just some oily legs.
S: A whole lot of barrel in this guy. Some marshmallow with caramel sweetness and oak. Roasted malts with some bourbon sweetness and light chocolate.
T: Even more barrel presence. A lot of woody oak, bourbon and vanilla with some milky chocolate and roasted malts.
M: Very thin with a medium low carbonation. Smooth and sweet finish.
O: A little to thin for my liking and the barrel took over the base beer. Still a nice beer overall.
Serving type: on-tap

Opaque black - brown beer, little tan head. Smooth palate with mild carbonation. Smooth dark malt, no roast or bitterness. When the beer is fridge cold there is a little vanilla oak. As the beer warms up the bourbon comes in. It’s spicy bourbon but it works here in the smooth background. Traces of chocolate and lactose. Finishes smooth. Very drinkable.
Sample from 22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small khaki head. The aroma has sweet caramel, roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, and oak. The flavor has caramel, bourbon, vanilla, roast, oak, some nutty character and coconut. Not as full bodied as I might have expected, but tasty.
