12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark amber to copper body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is quite thick and rich with a hefty amount of bourbon, deep toffee, caramel, and some light barrel notes of vanilla and charred wood. The flavor is a nice mix of bourbon influence and a really tasty sweet and rich Barley Wine. Really wonderful vanilla and smooth bourbon up front that fades to a warming but not overly hot alcohol note. Full and thick without any stickiness or clingy feelings. Perfect soft pinpoint carbonation. A very nice beer, much better than the reguay version. fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 13, 2010
Bottle shared by Corey. Thanks Corey! Pours opaque dark brown with tan head. Aroma is butterscotch, sherry oxidation, and sweet caramel. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor follows the nose and has a nice sherry like finish to it. I prefer these types of brews. This one is right up my alley and its tasty. Yum! Courtesy of my buddy Mike from BA, with a bottle labeled Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. Reddish brown in the glass, with the slightest of mocha colored head that quickly bailed. Taste is rich and sweet. Nice strong spiciness and richness. Lots of alcohol, and a heavy brew. Don’t try drinking too much of this one. Really good. pete4999 (1445) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 19, 2010
Bottle courtesy of furley from TBS....thanks! Not sure what year it’s from. Pours a deep mahogany/red, nearly opaque. Not much carbonation (there was also an 06 Sprecher BW in this package, so this one might be a few years old). Smell is definite bourbon barrel....tons of vanilla notes. Hardcore vanilla in the taste as well....very very sweet. Very well done though....smooth and creamy going down, nice and sweet. Wish I had a few more bottles of this. 2009 bottle. Pour is deep golden/amber with little head. Aroma is very malty and sweet with caramel and a light roast. Flavor is again very malty and on the sweeter side. Brew is well balanced.

12 oz. bottle. 2009 brew labeled as Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine. Aroma of malt, bourbon oak, caramel, and vanilla. An oaky flavor with sweet malt, brown sugar, chestnut, earthy hops, and fig. Mouth feels sticky and heavy. Finishes with bourbon oak taste with a hint of vanilla. bierkoning (13592) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JAN 10, 2010
2009 bottle, labeled as Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, from NickD717. Thanks! Dark brown color. Malt, oak, bourbon and a hint of dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet, oaky flavor with bourbon, orange liqour, earthy hops and dried figs. Well balanced yet very powerful. Yum!! nickd717 (4822) - San Francisco, California, USA - JAN 9, 2010
12oz bottle labeled as Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. Pours a mostly clear dark brown color with reddish hues and a small off-white head. Great aroma with bourbon, oak, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor is similarly awesome, very bourbony but not too much som with caramel and toffee, raisin and prune, brown sugar, vanilla, and oak. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate, not too boozy. This one really kicks ass overall. Phenomenal BBBW, up there with Perfect Storm. Ungstrup (38230) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2009
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alchol, malt, and bourbon. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Bottle:   Deep dirty caramel, thick, hazy, head is off-white, moderate, foamy, with clingy lacing.   That nose is so delicious, sweet malty goodness, Bourbon, Vanilla, and hints of caramel and brown sugar. &bnsp Fiery on the tongue, big Bourbon.   When they said this is barrel aged, they weren’t kidding. &bnsp Huge Bourbon and Vanilla flavors on the backside.   Full bodied, good mouthfeel, a little sticky and heavy.   Finishes with lingering Bourbon and Vanilla.   This was solid... great stuff!   Wish I had more to put down for a bit.   Thanks Bob for the bottle!
