Pours a very dark brown, almost black. Very small, effervescent mocha head. A ton of sediment. Nose smells almost identical to a quad. Bourbon is present, but it’s very subtle. A lot of dark fruits. Raisin, fig, licorice, caramel, cloves. Very malty. Mouth is awesome. The bourbon definitely shines through on the tongue. A decent amount of bitterness. I get a lot of espresso. Very dark as well. Some cherry and raisin play a role here. Despite the bourbon, there’s is almost no burn. It’s very smooth.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2017 Dark brown with a dark tan head. Big grainy aroma with plum and caramel. Taste is sweet and grainy up front with the caramel and plums following. Some booziness with a bit of heat. Full, slick mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. Finishes semi-dry.

Dark brown, tiny tan head. Aroma caramel, booze, malt. Medium body. Syrupy milky mouthfeel. Some alcohol. Quite sweet which is ok at first then a bit cloying as it warms. Some chocolate, coffee, caramel, bourbon. Interesting flavors but becomes a bit of a chore to finish.

B-. Pours a black color with khaki head. Very drinkable considering the color and alcohol content

A milestone beer - Rating 8,000! Alisa brought this one back to me from a trip and came up with a very special way of helping me to celebrate a Ratebeer milestone. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy very dark brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet molasses, fig, raisin, wood, cookie dough and caramel. The flavor was cherry, raisin and fig with molasses, black licorice, whiskey, and bread dough. Amazingly long finish. Full bodied. Outstanding.

Dark mahogany pour with a khaki head that fades down to a ring. Oily coating on the glass. Aroma is brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, toast, and oak. Taste is hot bourbon, caramel, and wood. Body is a little thinner than I would have hoped.

Sweet malt and toasted caramel notes in the nose from a dark Brown ppur. Complex sweet nd smoke flavor rounds to a nicr not harsh finish

Pretty solid scotch ale. Light but well integrated bourbon like the floorboards in a bar in Kentucky. Some smoke. Dark pour with ok head. Caramel and tangy sweet finish. Bottle.

On tap at Rumpus Room with GLBTQ crew. Snifter glass. Minimal head on a deeper amber, almost purple colored effort. Aroma is caramel and toffee with a dark fruit undertone. Gives off a little bit of a Belgian quad vibe. Taste is dangerously sweet and alcohol heavy with a dark candied fruit quality and a big malty sweetness. A definite sugary presence. This one feels like it will come back to haunt you. Overall the caramel sweetness is delicious and it carries through in the consumption experience. This brewery knows how to bourbon barrel age a beer.
