Bourbon dominated but very tasty! Attractive black pour with a beige head and ring of lacing. The aroma consists of bourbon, toffee, and light roast. The taste is right on point with the bourbon really shining throughout and some nice roasty notes kicking in at the finish. Very pleasant on the palate and quite smooth at nearly 10%. This is good stuff!

This draft brew from a beer bar was served at a cool temperature and poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The weak aroma was malty and bourbon. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering roasted malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of roasted malt mild wheat mildly vinous bourbon and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

12oz bottle. Dark pour. Aroma is pretty hot with bourbon. Taste is better, rich, slight booze but well balanced. Well done, this whole series is phenomenal.

Bottle from Meditrina. Dark dark brown with ring. Boozy woody fruity chocolate ashy earthy aroma. Sweet dark chocolate and fruit caramel and vanilla. Spicy boozy woody finish that has a real bite with the fine carbo. Medium full wicked oily body. Lacks richness and softness. Mostly unpleasant. Try the Reserve Scotch Ale instead. It’s awesome.

Rather boozy in taste, but not in scent. Slight oak and smoke on the taste, but the aroma had a cherry wood burned molasses scent. Thick mouth feel. Very nice and easy. Bottle

2016. Poured from 12 oz bottle into a snifter. Black with a tan light head. Aroma is toasted malt and bourbon. Sweet toasted malts and vanilla in the taste. Finish is only slightly boozy.

The beer dark brown with a large tan head. The aroma has caramel, coconut, smooth roast, vanilla, bourbon and light spice. It has a smooth rich velvety body with soft gentle carbonation. The taste has the aroma notes, but it’s richer at first and then has some spicy and earthy hops at the end. Just an excellent beer in about every way.

12oz bottle from Windsor Hy-Vee, in a Sam Smith pint glass. Smells of milk and dark chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, candied pecans, vanilla, caramel and old wood. Very nice. Pours almost black with a trace of caramel color visible around the edges, abundant carbonation clinging all around the edge of the glass with one finger of persistent creamy tan head dissipating gradually to a thin layer. Flavor is creamy, sweet and light up front, like chocolate mousse, roasty and bourbony mid-palate with bitter chocolate on the finish and a nice slow sweet alcoholic burn. Solidly medium-bodied, not oppressive in the least, bouyed up by all that nice carbonation and delicate balance of flavors. Slightly sweet mouthcoating quality to it. A really excellent beer, better than I expected it to be! I’ve heard a range of things about Central Waters and don’t normally find it where I shop, so this was a fantastic introduction and really sets the bar high for other offerings in the future. Cheers!

12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a medium density, at best, deep chocolate brown with a smaller fizzy beige head. Aroma is the best thing about this beer. Lots of different types of chocolate, vanilla, very light bourbon barrel in the background, sticky marshmallows. Flavor is much drier, lots of barrel, chocolate, bourbon booze and vanilla beans with some burnt toast. Medium mouthfeel, lighter carbonation and alcohol heat for sort of a let down for a big strong sipper. It’s a good beer but was hoping to love this and scoop up a few 4packs but 1 bottle was enough for the money.

MNAle (189) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 23, 2016
Killer aroma bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, fruit, coffee, roasted malts + more. Very dark with a 1 inch tan, creamy head that recedes moderately fast to a thin cover with some irregular lacing. Moderately carbonated. Very smooth, creamy mouth feel. Taste of bourbon, chocolate, roasted malts - but not as much as in the aroma. Moderate bittering arrives in the middle and finish. After some alcohol in the initial taste, it recedes to be well controlled and hidden in the middle and finish, but returns as alcohol warmth in the aftertaste.
