Pours a deep brown, almost black with one finger of pale head, aroma of bourbon is very strong but fades quickly, gives very strong coffee and bourbon flavors, with a hint of vanilla, fairly thing body, but overall a very strong beer

Rebel Without a Cause is a 1955 American drama film about emotionally confused suburban, middle-class teenagers. Filmed in the recently introduced CinemaScope format and directed by Nicholas Ray, it offered both social commentary and an alternative to previous films depicting delinquents in urban slum

355 ml. bottle. 2017 Vintage. Black, solid mocha head. Nose is massive bourbon, chocolate syrup, big prune, almost vague soy sauce. Pure syrup, bourbon is huge but also weird soy sauce, plastic, figs, sugar, half dried prune, some umami more in the back largely, some peculiar base with the figs, soy sauce, prune but still taste with bourbon, syrup bit odd not what I fully expected but rather tasty all the same.

I don't know if there is a change in the 2017 edition or my tastes but it seems very boozy and light on taste, like brown sugar, water, and vodka in a bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mahogany color with a sticky beige head. Nice alcohol nose. Toffee, molasses and brown sugar sweetness and some chocolate.
Earlier Rating: 12/19/2005 Total Score: 4
Dark beer with a jewel like deep red when held against the light. Thin biege head that shrunk to a light dusting and left nice lacing. Sticky burnt caramel nose with lots of bourbon barrel and a hint of hair spray. It has the buttery oak, vanilla and bourbon flavors that I expect to find in a BA beer. The bourbon peaks towards the end of the swallow, with a roast coffee bitterness in the finish. Alcohol becomes more prominent as it warms. Very nice sipping beer. Thanks to CaptainCougar for the bottle.

On tap at JL Beers. Black pour with a light tan head. Chocolate, bourbon and light coffee notes, hints of bread and dark fruit. A little light bodied but quite flavourful and balanced.

bottle. Black with one finger tan head. Big chocolate malt body, caramel, toffee. Rich and smooth. Substantial bourbon influence along with some barrel. I'd take this over KBS every time. One of the best BBA stouts I've had. Great balance.

355ml bottle (thx, Chris S.!). Vintage 2014. Pours a deep black (whoa!) With a beige head. Aroma is malty, fruity, chocolaty, some bourbon notes. Similar taste. Great stuff!

On tap at Local Option. Pours near black with a nice tan head and a magnificent treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with some chocolate and a warm bourbon trail.

Dark brown pour with a thin tan head - looks a bit light for an imperial stout. But as soon as it’s poured into a glass, a rich bourbon aroma fills the room. Great stuff - bourbon, rye whiskey, quite a bit of oak, vanilla, burnt caramel, toffee, a bit of maple syrup, rich espresso, a bit of dark cherry bitterness and just a hint of dark chocolate. Still a bit light bodied for the style, could do with more roastiness and maltiness, but a very solid beverage nontheless.

Tap at rumpus room in Milwaukee during glbtq. Small pour. Brown black with small white head. Boozy nose with dark fruit. Some peat. Sweet, booze, dark fruit. Bourbon doesn’t overpower. This is terrific.
