2.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
12oz bottle, it is non-vintaged, but I’ve had it since 09. Pours out a nice rich black color, great coffee color head. Aromas are a bit one-sided but rich bourbon, mocha, vanilla. Everything is great until the palate. I’m not sure if this was just a bad bottle, or maybe this shouldn’t have gone this long, but it has had proper storage. Palate from entry to finish is sherrified, vinegar, and it literally stings across the palate. Bourbon is stretched thin across the palate. I really want to re-rate this fresh.
Dark brown pour with a thin tan head - looks a bit light for an imperial stout. But as soon as it’s poured into a glass, a rich bourbon aroma fills the room. Great stuff - bourbon, rye whiskey, quite a bit of oak, vanilla, burnt caramel, toffee, a bit of maple syrup, rich espresso, a bit of dark cherry bitterness and just a hint of dark chocolate. Still a bit light bodied for the style, could do with more roastiness and maltiness, but a very solid beverage nontheless. commonshawn (1259) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 24, 2017
Tap at rumpus room in Milwaukee during glbtq. Small pour. Brown black with small white head. Boozy nose with dark fruit. Some peat. Sweet, booze, dark fruit. Bourbon doesn’t overpower. This is terrific. Iphonephan (6988) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - JUN 15, 2017

Cola colored with tan head that recedes quickly. Aroma has bourbon, coffee, chocolate, dried fruit and more. A ton of flavor including all of the above. Light alcohol taste initially that is replaced by some bitterness. Body is creamy and full. ads135 (4607) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 3, 2017
Very rich, very delicious dark beer. Picked up at Local Option with Josh, Brandon, Brian, and Al after ASEH in 2017. Thick on the tongue, super chocolatey with a deep licorice finish.

Aroma is mostly chocolate and alcohol. Taste is similar. Appearance is dark brown with a very fizzy head the dissipates quickly. Fairly light body. Not as rich and creamy as you would want a barrel aged stout to be. No lacing whatsoever. Not up to Central Waters standards in my opinion. Pours deep brown to black with low tan head. Aroma of nuts, bourbon, light vanilla, chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate followed by a lingering balanced bourbon sweet finish. Light to medium bodied, creamy, with soft carbonation. TylerGreenDC (953) - - APR 3, 2017
Draft. Aroma of of raisin and sticky cake. Flavors follow, plus some bourbon, it’s sweetness moderated by an insistent bitter backbone probably more malty than hoppy. This finish astounds. Really smooth, balanced. Not boozy.
