I was surprised that this was still on tap after a couple of hours given the crowd at Brickhouse. Ordering a two ounce pour as a nightcap I enjoyed a solid beer. It compares favorably with a couple of other molasses infused beers that I’ve tried in the past few years.
Aroma / Appearance - A deep blackish brown base is sticky and lazy. Brown sugar on tap of the usual coffee notes of Satin Solstice enhance an already solid imperial stout.
Flavor / Palate - Brown sugar, waxy chocolate, and a dry malt drive home a solid impression. The mildly bitter finish hangs in the back of the throat like sips of lukewarm coffee. It feels like Satin Solstice but a different take.
