A: The pour is a clear amber color with a finger of sticky off-white head that leaves some nice lacing. S: Quite heavy on the caramel and toffee maltiness. The hop character is there, though in the background. It’s mostly spicy and herbal with a decent grass note, too. Just a hint of fruitiness on the back end. T: Strangely toasty in nature with lots of bready malts and caramel. A slight bitterness to it with lots of woody/herbal hops and a light spicy note, too. There is still a fair amount of sweetness, too. M: Medium in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: Too sweet without the real intense and citrusy hop profile that I tend to look for in an IPA.

An amber IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with floral hops, light vinous notes, very nice. In mouth, a biscuit malt with pinhey herbal hops, pink grapefruits, nice, smooth, well balanced. Bottle at the Istmus Beer and Cheese, Jan 21 2012.

On Tap, it is rather pedestrian for an IPA, Central Waters needs to amp up the hops.
