Nice clear amber body with a soapy white head. Light but fresh flower/grapefruit hop aroma with a bit of resin. Flavor is good, but not that heavy. Its a bit piney with some orange and bread thrown in. The hops are there, just not special. Overall, its good, but again, not special. iwantalambic (1478) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 10, 2004
Draught Hill Top - Stevens Point, WI: slightly hazed amber with a thin white head that leaves thin icing on the sides of the pint glass. Piney hop aroma that is just right for a good APA. Flavour is well rounded with a solid malt bill, good hop presence and a lingering bitterness, all delivered on a well carbonated and lively palate. An above average pale, from a previously unknown brewery to me, time to try some more. Pjones6738 (500) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 3, 2004
Nice golden color, average sized white head. Kind of a flower/pine aroma. Pine flavor over a medium bitterness. I think I like the IPAs that taste like grapefruit more that the one that taste like hops (more experiementation always needed, of course), but this is pretty good. Slightly hazy amber body, short-lived white head. Bread and some bitter hops in the aroma, overall it's subdued. Subtle caramel and bready malt with a refreshingly bitter hop flavor. I was initially taken aback by the flavor, thinking the beer was bad or poorly produced. That's not the case, as the flavor's just different that most other hoppy beers I've had (just like the comm. description states). The hops have a nice piney, earthy, musty character. Dry, piney finish. JPDIPSO (6257) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 22, 2004
This brewery is quickly becoming one of my favorite "locals". Lightly hazed amber color with a rocky thick cream colored head. Crisp malt and light PNW hops profile. Light and somewhat spritzy body. Inital malt sweetness quickly snaped away by a hops bite. Light caramel malt flavors fight it out with pine needles jabbing the tongue. Nicely balanced. Initial hops finish, taken back by a mild malt linger. This rivals may out there in the APA department.

Crisp hoppy aroma. Floral. Deep golden color. Light carbonation. Thin, wispy head. The taste is a nice balance of hops and malt. Not as bitter as the label would lead you to believe. Balanced. Neither the malt or the hops is aggressive. A nice drinkable beer. Well made.
