Sampler flight at the brewery. Dark golden-straw colored pour, thin head, sweet nose, mild hops and some malt flavor. robloc303 (268) - Erie, Colorado, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Pours copper color, nose of flowers, citrus, bread, yeast. Real bitter up front, followed by nice bread notes, a bit of sweet honey and oats. Not a big pale fan, but this is very well balanced. smooch (238) - Sylvania, Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2010
Quite a huge head....which slowly dissipated leaving lacing. The aroma had a faint hint of hops but nothing noteworthy. Appearance is pretty much as normal for the style although a touch extra murky. There is an awkward pucking taste....like something chemical was added that shouldn’t be there. If this is what the brewer means by sharp bitterness, then I don’t care for it. emeinz (220) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Pretty solid pale ale. Bottle to glass. Nice crisp aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and pine. Pour is amber/gold with a nice moderate white head. Medium carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. This is a go to when I see it around. Another all around solid offering from CW. beerhandy (195) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 23, 2006
This one confused me the aroma was
hoppy ,classic american micro ale the beer itself was a rich gold with a nice tight white head. The taste is what really
bugged me .Scorched malt ,not a hint of smokiness, not a tobbacco note it really tasted like burnt barley that comes from a scorched mash.I didnt like it much at all.
I hope it was a mistake or my taste buds
where out of order but this beer was horrible.

Crisp hoppy aroma. Floral. Deep golden color. Light carbonation. Thin, wispy head. The taste is a nice balance of hops and malt. Not as bitter as the label would lead you to believe. Balanced. Neither the malt or the hops is aggressive. A nice drinkable beer. Well made. ShawnMalloy (130) - Auburn, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Purchased at Binny’s in Chicago, IL which is located next to the Goose Island brewpub. The first one I opened was flat. The second one was not flat. Sort of a copper hue. Fruity hoppy beer. Notes of kid cereal. Good drinkability. Delectable treat. laguerita (111) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 10, 2008
not much of an aroma. a pretty mild and slightly fruity front finishes super bitter. refreshing and very drinkable. jjkuck10 (66) - , Wisconsin, USA - AUG 16, 2009
Hazy, golden yellow-orange apperance with a weak white head. Aroma is malt, sweetness, and some hopps with fruity undertones. Taste is fruity sweetness with minimal hopps, ends bitter. brewmaster55 (48) - , Wisconsin, USA - FEB 13, 2009
Not a hoppy Pale Ale just as it states. Wasn’t bad, nor was it great. Lack of Hops is a big turn off for a beer in the Pale Ale style if you ask me. Has an odd aftertaste that stays on the palate for much longer than most.
