Quite a huge head....which slowly dissipated leaving lacing. The aroma had a faint hint of hops but nothing noteworthy. Appearance is pretty much as normal for the style although a touch extra murky. There is an awkward pucking taste....like something chemical was added that shouldn’t be there. If this is what the brewer means by sharp bitterness, then I don’t care for it. Pours orange amber with a small white head, traces of it last throughout. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is sweet to bitter. Sticky mouthfeel. Overall this is a decent APA, nice balance of bitters and sweetness. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 23, 2011
Bottle: Hazy amber, large frothy off-white head, nice lacing, minimal carbonation. I have had
this one for a while. Wow, has a distinct fruitiness to the nose. Almost like very soft peach.
While it has a soft hoppiness on the tongue, it does have this fruity background. Not what I was expecting
at all. A little musty or barnish, I think thats from the age. Somewhat falls off quickly, not much
bitterness is there. A very light Pale Ale with some unexpected fruity aspects. Interesting.
Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Definitely not your West Coast style Pale Ale. emeinz (224) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 11, 2012
Pretty solid pale ale. Bottle to glass. Nice crisp aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and pine. Pour is amber/gold with a nice moderate white head. Medium carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. This is a go to when I see it around. Another all around solid offering from CW. hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 19, 2012
12oz bottle. pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head, aroma is mixed with fruit and sweetness with hop notes, the taste is overall more fruit like than hops but is still very enjoyable.

Golden pour with an off white head. Aroma is malty and pine. Tasty is malt with a dry aftertaste. Hammy78 (977) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle picked up at a Binny’s by a good friend. Pour is slightly cloudy amber, with a cloudy head that recedes to a thin layer with lots of legs on the side walls. Aroma is, well hops quite obviously, sweet malt too. Tastes hop bitter, but it also has an element of soapiness too. Good , but not my favorite of the style. timc100 (320) - Park Ridge, Illinois, USA - MAR 17, 2013
A really pleasant pale ale, not extraordinary in any way, nothing wrong either. Sweet citrus and bready aromas. Decent amount of bitterness that washes over the tongue, very solid bready malt backbone. MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - SEP 1, 2005
Orange-copper. Nose somewhat citric, a few malts. Reasonably well balanced, some citrus backed up by a reasonable amount of toastiness. Reasonably decent. hopdog (13258) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 21, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Enemy (thanks!). Poured a medium amber with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of toffee, citrus, flowers and a little fruity. Tastes of caramel, citrus, toasted malts, and some fruits. Some lacing left on the glass.
