2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber with minimal foam. Aroma is sweet caramel and vanilla. Taste is also sweet caramel and vanilla. Almost like a root beer. Very unusual. Nice but not an Octoberfest.
Bottle. Pours hazy honey color with light beige head. Biscuit malt aroma with caramel notes. Light biscuit malt with caramel and some subtle herbal notes. Light-medium body that hollows out a bit in the finish. trapped (3782) - New York, TURKEY - NOV 7, 2017
Draught @ Dive 75. Cloudy amber red with small creamy beige head, faint caramel malt aroma, high carbonation, sweetish caramel malt taste, thin body abrupt finish. Nice festbier. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 27, 2017
12 ounce bottle from Sendik's Marquette. Dark copper, thin creamy tan head, fair retention. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, some green notes. The taste is toasted malt, caramel, mild fruitiness and some offensive tinny, meaty notes. Thin. Meh. MNAle (234) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 23, 2017
Lager aroma: yeast, bread, hints of fruit, maybe a little spice. Deep amber with lots of bubbles and a tall off-white head, receding within a minute or so to a thin cap. Mild flavor, with just a hint of bittering in the middle and a malty, relatively simple-tasting finish. In the mouth, it is a bit thin. Yes, this is a lager fall seasonal, but there is not much to recommend this beer against the other regional Oktoberfests, and it is completely outclassed by the Germans. Nothing too bad, it is just not remarkable. George999 (481) - Colorado, USA - AUG 29, 2016
The pour is clear and copper in color, with a caramel colored head. The aroma is bread, yeast and caramel. The taste is caramel with a peppery finish and a good malt backbone. The carbonation is high communicating a brighter finish but leaving a little roasted malts.

Pours a clear copper color with a substantial antique lace white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, buttered biscuits, a bit of vanilla and almost non-existent hop bitterness. Really good, but perhaps a bit sweet. tmoreau (4739) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 17, 2016
On tap at Lucille in Madison, WI. and served to a sampler showing a clear, amber hue, a presentable layer of off white head foam that reduced to a persistent ring & film, with ribbons of lacing. The nose was light grain, toasted, with Munich & light lager scent, and just a tad of caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste mimicked the aroma notes in a more mellowed fashion, and contributed a low, earthy bitter. A clean rendition of the style. Pours a rust color with a small but well retained head and some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is malty with some toasted nuts & some leafiness. It’s not overly sweet smelling, it’s clean, it’s inviting.
the flavor is malty with some toasted nut things happening. It’s got some leafy and herbal hop character. The beer is not overly sweet, it’s clean... it’s a little nutty.
As far as Oktoberfest goes, this is just fine.
12oz bottle pours a hazy copper/orange with a huge khaki head. Light toffee and caramel malt aroma. Light taste caramel and toffee, lightly fruity. Not offensive, pretty bland. schmittaj (16) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 12, 2015
Not bad, decent balance of malts, slightly sweet. My biggest issue is a slight metallic aftertaste.
