Pours cloudy orange with off-white head. Aroma of peach and malt with a bit of grass and yeast. Flavor is balanced, but a little bittersweet. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 28, 2008
On draught at the brewery’s taproom in Amherst, Wisconsin. This was the first exclusive anniversary brew I sampled during the Central Waters’ 10th Anniversary Party. Pours a hazy golden orange brew with a decent fizzy, off-white head that has some good retention, spotty lacing and texture. Aroma of fruity malt character with peaches, a touch of mango, grassy hops and some sour yeast funk. Taste is spritzy, semi-sweet and medium bodied, with a good balance of sweet and sour tropical fruit, vanilla, peaches and tangerines. Finish is definitely towards the sweet side, smooth barrel aged character with a light bread malt and peach aftertaste. Champale? I remember a product once brewed by Iroquois Brands last in 1979 by this name. Luckily most beer drinkers today don’t remember that brand because Central Waters has a better product than the one in the past.
