Pours dark chocolate brown with thin tan head. The nose is coffee grounds, vanilla, cocoa. The taste is coffee, chocolate, oaky vanilla, light bourbon. Medium body. Not as much of the barrel as I like but still decent. 3.8 djd07 (15282) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2014
2013 bottle thanks to Bob. Pours a dark brown with beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is nice coffee bean, toffee, oak. Thin mouthfeel with rich malt, raisin, nice coffee bean, light dryness. Very good. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - JUN 26, 2014

2013 bottle as an extra in trade. Pours black with a one finger dark khaki head. Aroma of chocolate, some coffee, vanilla oak, bourbon. Flavor is bourbon heavy though not boozy, barely any coffee, light chocolate, nice vanilla finish. Bit of a Jack and Coke flavor going on here, supplemented by the lack of body. Body is on the thin side with medium carbonation. Overall a nice flavor but seems to need a good bit more body. Doesn't seem like this one is infected so that's good! Not bad but I don't think I'll seek this one out again. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 23, 2014
Coffee and bourbon on the nose, this pours out black like oil. Coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, and bit of vanilla on the palate. Really complex.

Bottle to glass. Pitch black coffee pour with a nice creamy khaki head. Nose is coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate. Taste is a great base of bitter sweet roasted malt, chocolate, and huge coffee with a Bourbon ghost finish. Notes of vanilla float around too. I don’t think this one was affected by the infection, or it’s still too early on. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - APR 2, 2014
bottle from my pal nate, pitch black pour with creamy brown head, aroma is chocolate and alcohol, very smooth chocolate Dave11899 (23) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 27, 2014
2014 release Pours black with very little khakis head.
Aroma is bourbon and raisins.
Taste is sweet with a slight alcohol presence. Mainly of chocolate and bourbon.
Palate is smooth with some dryness similar to a bitter beer.
Overall a good beer. Doesn’t match up to some of the other barrel aged series from Central Waters. I’d recommend one of the other options over this one from these guys. kkleu357 (634) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 27, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2015 Dark pour. Kind of looks like Coke. Bourbony coffee smell. You can tell just by the aroma this is a Central Waters beer. Must be the barrels. Tastes great. Great chocolaty toasty flavors. Very sweet. Nice touch of bourbon. A little tangy on the tip of tongue. The tangyness isn’t to pronounced. Have had 4 bottles so far and all have been fine. Will probably drink the remaining 4 soon because I hear the tangy taste will eventually sour the beer. I like this beer a lot. Would hate to see it retired, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see on the future status of it.
***Had the new version on tap at Madison Craft Beer Week. Absolutely phenomenal. A+++*** Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 9, 2014
Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. Pours black with a medium khaki head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, oak and malt. Medium-bodied with an odd mineral/metallic character that makes me wonder if this bottle is infected. Notes of buttery bourbon, malt and stale coffee. The finish is roasty and metallic with a malt aftertaste. A disappointment overall.
