On tap at Stubby’s. Dark brow with a creamy brown crown. Aroma of molasses, rye, dark toasted malt, chocolate and mild alcohol. Taste is solid with rye, molasses, chocolate, roasted malt, sugar, a touch of salt and some heat on the finish. I thought this was an excellent offering. jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Tap at 1515 release party. Pours black, a bit hazy if that’s possible, and almost no head at all. Hint of rye spice on the nose, vanilla and whiskey. Very soft mouthfeel, almost firkin-like. Smooth bourbon, more rye, hint of chocolate. Interesting and lovely. crossovert (14233) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Another solid addition to the BA stout family at CW. THis one is a bit boozy but tasty. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 17, 2013
On tap at Stubby’s. Poured near black with a short off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet, roasty black and chocolate malts with spicy rye whiskey and vanilla accents.. big, enticing stuff. The flavor foudn mostly black malt and licorice at the core, with vanilla and peppery rye whiskey laced throughout.. warm whiskey and burnt black malt on the finish. Heavy-bodied, dry, and a tad grainy on the palate.. a bit too hot and heavy in the end.
