COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This smooth, creamy stout and a crackling fireplace are the perfect answer to a wintry evening in Wisconsin. The rich coffee flavor compliments the "warm, fuzzy feeling" you get from the abundant alcohol. Formerly a winter seasonal, named Satin Solstice.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head -- not even a close-to-black colour for an impie stout. Aroma brings out winter spices upfront, with light toasted malt. Flavour doesn’t seem like an impie stout at all, but more like an earthy winter warmer, with toasted caramel, and a touch of cocoa. Again, doesn’t seem like an impie stout at all, just a strong winter warmer; and as such, it’s quite solid.

Draught. Opaque dark brown with medium sized creamy beige head, faint roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet taste turning bitter with roasted malt flavor, bit of berries, smooth body, medium bitter roasted finish with alcohol aftertaste. The alcohol aftertaste is a bit strong but still nice.

Mildly opaque reddish brown with a minimal tan head. Some darker berries, coffee, caramel. A decent bit bitter, plenty of sweetness, but dry through the finish. Heavier body, some carbonation, reasonably long finish. Quite oily. Good.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small tannish head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, smoke. Thin mouth, chocolate malt, light roast, some smoke, light boozy finish, very good.

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a big lightbrown head. Smells and tastes smoky, roasted malt, a bit salty with a similar finish.

tompete (335) - Tillsonburg, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2016
Pours opaque brown with a light brown head. Aroma is biscuit or cracker and roast. Flavour is sharp and metallic and almost too crisp. The body seems too thin for an imperial stout and doesn't hide the alcohol well. Finish is dark chocolate and roast bitterness.

mfhennig (285) - McHenry County, Illinois, USA - MAR 17, 2016
Opaque dark brown pour, creamy khaki colored head. Smells of strong burnt coffee. Great flavor, hints of cocoa, oats and a bit nutty. This had just the right amount of bitterness. Flavor improved as this warmed. This was purchased as one of a "pick your own six pack", so I’m not sure of the price, but this will go on the "buy again" list. Damn good beer.

jeremyh70 (1103) - Missouri, USA - MAR 1, 2016
Pours a dark black with a frothy khaki head with good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roast, leather and some umami with a hint of soy. Taste is a mixture of chocolate and roast with an ashy and savory character. Finishes dry with a bit of roasty, earthy bitterness. Semi creamy mouthfeel, full body and moderate carbonation. Not bad but flavors border on being harsh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
