2006 Bottle. Opaque black stout. Aged malt nose. Softish palate. Aged malt start with some unsweet chocolate underneath. Slightly tangy before a quiet echo of hops in the finish. Hangs together okay in a ’wee heavy’ sort of way!
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Clear, reddish chestnut brown with a light brown head. Spicy vanilla in the nose with a rather burned note. Body is only medium with sweetish, roasted malt and notes of dried fruit with a burned edge. The finish is dry with a subdued bitterness. Not a huge Imperial stout, but a very pleasant one. 230807 Leighton (21874) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2015
Bottle shared at chriso’s post-GBBF shindig 2014 - London. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. Dusty chocolate abounds in this one, coloured by notes of earthy bitterness, dark sugars. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with cheap-tasting chocolate. So so. Rasmus40 (21474) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2013
