Nto my favorite style but I tried it anyways. nice rich color and taste. Pretty roasty for a scotch ale imo and also not as sweet, more of a sessionable beer. Sammy (12596) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2012
Bottle from 2011 summer trip. Dark brown with a small consistent off-white head, and some lace. A rich malted aroma. Medium mouthfeel, however it is smooth. The chocolate, the smoke, the malt, all nicely integrated. BVery (11209) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - MAR 12, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Very dark pour with a nice light tan head. Nose is rather mild - some caramel malts. Nice smooth palate with good density. Taste is great - smooth chocolate, caramel, malty - nice balance and character. Very well done! arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Pour on tap at craft kitchen, dark brownish red pour with tan head, aroma brought caramel, toffee, muted spice, some earth into a bit of grass. Taste is muddled, but some caramel, toffee, slight dark fruit into a bit of grass and herbal notes, finishing sweet, slightly bitter.
