pretty decent stout but not much a big fan of the heat in the throat. Pretty tasty though. I would like to have my stout with pepper flavors and no heat. Its not hot my any means but it not everyone’s cup of tea. still try it if it was on tap or something.
4 oz. pour, on tap at Grizzly’s in Plymouth, Minnesota. Consumed on 1-14-17. Dark brown with taupe head. Roasted malt smell. Sweetness in aroma. Perhaps some pepper scent. Dry, roasted malts plus light to moderate pepper. Medium body, light for ABV. Frothy in the palate. Not bad (good in fact) but could’ve been a lot better. Lacks in substance. Pours black with a lingering, dark khaki head. The aroma is big on chocolate, along with some roasted malts, pepper, and cocoa. The taste is a bit sweet with a sharp burn from the pepper. In addition to the peppery taste, there is chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee. The heat isn’t all that intense, though it sticks with you into the aftertaste, which is a mild chocolate. It is medium in body, with a creamy texture, and minimal carbonation. I find little evidence that this is actually as strong as it is. I’d enjoy this more if it was hotter. Dark brown/black color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, cocoa/chocolate, coffee, some peppers, & spice; Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, hot chili peppers, some hops, and spice; Hot/burn finish; The abv is well hidden; Really spicy - but I enjoyed it. Bomber. Black with an average mocha head that leaves nice lacing as it shrinks. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, roasted dark malts, and hints of chilis. Taste is coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. Lots of roasted dark malts. Peppers in the finish. Average thickness and heat slowly builds. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 31, 2016

Halloween rooftop rating session in the dark. Chicago, IL.
Black color with a small to medium size foamy light tan head.
Roasted malt, ash, dryness, dark chocolate, cacao and mild bitterness in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, ash, dryness, dark chocolate, cacao, mild coffee and some mild chili notes. Warming a bit. I don’t know if it’s the 12% or the peppers. Maybe both. Really roasted.
Bottle from the crew...pour is dark black...mouth was semi disappointing...needs more chocolate and less peppers...ok brew! jmohno (1612) - Iowa, USA - JUL 7, 2016
Opaque black. Cinnimon kaki head. Dark choc cocoa aroma with a hint of pepper spice. Taste is rich smooth malt chocolate, mellow roast, nothings harsh. Then a heat and some herbal and dark malts in finish. Lingering mellow heat. rdixon77 (2763) - Georgia, USA - JUN 16, 2016
Nice pepper stout. Good balance between heat and chocolate sweetness. Aged quite a mild which probably helped mild it out. Tasty. Ron (3920) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 23, 2016
Bottle aged over a year in my beer cellar. Black pour with a nice khaki head that lasts and laces well. Nice aroma, dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and just a dash of a pepper. Great flavor, a good melding of coffee, chocolate, roast, and pepper in the finish. Smoothed in the aging. hopscotch (11049) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 4, 2016
Bottle... Pours murky and dark brown with a small, creamy, khaki head. Great retention. The nose features burnt malts, fudge, charcoal and chili peppers. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is a well-integrated collection of charcoal, 85%-cacao chocolate, espresso and chili pepper heat, and a lightly sweet note of caramel. Lengthy, charcoal and chili pepper finish. Warms the soul, this on. Bottle generously provided by ctipping!
