COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark grains contribute rich notes of chocolate, coffee and molasses to this stout that gets its creamy mouthfeel from a generous hand of malted oats and lactose.

On tap at First Draft, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out hearty oats and some toasted malt. Flavour is similar, with rich oatmeal, medium roast and a touch of dark cocoa. Hearty and well-balanced. Very good.

Like this better than the double version, really good smooth and dry sweet stout. Balance chocolate espresso vanilla. Yum.

Sampled at their brewpub, This one pours black with tiny off white head and not much lacing. Smell is hazelnut coffee, vanilla, light roast, dark chocolate, and creamy malt. Flavor is most of the same with roasted Malt, coffee, light licorice, lactose and oatmeal. Medium body, somewhat refreshing for the style.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is Pitch black with a frothy brown head and sticky lacing. Big roasty aroma - cocoa nibs, coffee, some vanilla, brown sugar, and toffee. Taste is fresh coffee, cocoa nibs, light vanilla, earthy, toasted bread, and coconut with a lightly bitter finish. Full mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Really tasty - I cannot believe this is only 4.9%.

6100th rating, and well deserved to be this beer at this brewery. Black pour with a thin light tan head. Lovely nose with coffee and roasted black malts, and a bit of cocoa creamy sweetness. Smooth flavor of the same notes; lots of sweet cocoa, earthy roast, a bit of coffee, smooth deep darkness with a nice sweet backbone to it--with coffee. Lovely. Smooth.

Taster at the brewery - well-executed sweet stout with more heft and warmth than one might expect from the abv - notes of dark chocolate, espresso, light smoke, vanilla, and mild spiciness - bittersweet finish - not overly roasty or astringent - good.
