"Super Bock Stout is a black beer, produced from special malts which give it a distinct flavour and aroma, and a long-lasting creamy head. It differs from the other black beers on the market because it is richer in extract, more full-bodied and with a more complex (almost fruity), not-so-roasted taste and aroma."

On tap at Bar Ingls, Lisboa.Pours almost pitch black with a tiny light tanned head.Aroma of sweet caramel, light roast. Taste is smooth, malty caramel and some easy roasted grain as well. Very light hopped, easy drinkable, but lacks some personality.

12 oz bottle. Pours a medium to deep brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is a bit cocoa and a bit of a roasty malt note, though both are very faint with some sweet candy caramel but a touch metallic. Flavor is much more chocolately, especially in the finish with some of the caramel and biscuit and honey coming through as well. The cocoa fades quickly out of the finish. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Not awful, drinkable but its funny they name it a stout.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2011 from Drinks of the World, Bern - clear very dark brown colour under a solid persistent dark beige foam; roasted aroma of black chocolate, medium-bodied, sweet and tart with a corny and pretty harsh finish where more chocolatey notes come up - cheap

From [email protected] Ingls, Lisbon. Low small-bubbled tan head. Dark brown to black body with a ruby shade. Sweet caramel and buttery malts in the aroma. Mildly roasted, light caramelly malt flavor. Distinct sugary sweetness. Very mildly hopped. Smooth and oily in the mouth. No flaws, no edges either. One of the better Portoguese.

Bara namnet varnar fr en l med lite spaltat personlighet. Vtskan ganska mrkt, skummet tunt. Doft: Ganska intetsgande, men lite rostade toner tycks jag hitta. Smak: Chocklad, rostade kaffebnor, inte alls bockst, men lite stma nd. Annars ganska tunn och blaskig.

Black colour with some red hue and small tan head. Mild roasted malt, coffee and slightly artificial sugary sweetness in aroma. Flavour is mild sugary sweet with some fruitiness and mild hoppiness.

Bottle. Dark with a medium slightly tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, some light coffee, nuts and some caramel. An ok and drinkable beer from Portugal but on the thin side.

Almost totally black with a short lived frothy brown head. Aroma is sweet and a little malty. Taste is sweet and roasty with a slight bitter finish. Not bad but its probably a stretch calling it a stout probably more a Dunkel. Overall not bad but lacks character.

The brand is "Bock" and the genre is "Stout", but ultimately, it is a Dunkel. Oh my... Anyway... Not bad at all once you give up looking features of a stout and start appreciating it as a dunkel. Poured from a longneck bottle into a tulip. Good head formation and retention, with very fine beige bubbles. Smell is roasty and caramel sweet, with a hint of fruitiness. Very drinkable and fluid. The hoppiness expected from a stout just isnt there. But all in all, its a well-balanced brew. Excellent for dinner.

Dark colour with a beige head that lasts nicely through the glass. The roasted malt flavour youd expect from a stout is there, but is quite light, leaving it feel slightly watery. Hints of vanilla and caramel with a slightly annoying fruity twang in the aftertaste. Not great by the standards of a stout.
