Very charming dark beer with a nice roasted malt and caramel flavour. Might have more of this. JanEric (1233) - Meppel, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2011

On tap at Bar Inglês, Lisboa.Pours almost pitch black with a tiny light tanned head.Aroma of sweet caramel, light roast. Taste is smooth, malty caramel and some easy roasted grain as well. Very light hopped, easy drinkable, but lacks some personality.

12 oz bottle. Pours a medium to deep brown with a small light tan head. Aroma is a bit cocoa and a bit of a roasty malt note, though both are very faint with some sweet candy caramel but a touch metallic. Flavor is much more chocolately, especially in the finish with some of the caramel and biscuit and honey coming through as well. The cocoa fades quickly out of the finish. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Not awful, drinkable but its funny they name it a stout. Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 23, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2011 from Drinks of the World, Bern - clear very dark brown colour under a solid persistent dark beige foam; roasted aroma of black chocolate, medium-bodied, sweet and tart with a corny and pretty harsh finish where more chocolatey notes come up - cheap

Inglês, Lisbon. Low small-bubbled tan head. Dark brown to black body with a ruby shade. Sweet caramel and buttery malts in the aroma. Mildly roasted, light caramelly malt flavor. Distinct sugary sweetness. Very mildly hopped. Smooth and oily in the mouth. No flaws, no edges either. One of the better Portoguese.
330 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.gyllenbock (9157) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2011
Black colour with some red hue and small tan head.
Mild roasted malt, coffee and slightly artificial sugary sweetness in aroma.
Flavour is mild sugary sweet with some fruitiness and mild hoppiness.
Dark with a medium slightly tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, some light coffee, nuts and some caramel. An ok and drinkable beer from Portugal but on the thin side.

Almost totally black with a short lived frothy brown head. Aroma is sweet and a little malty. Taste is sweet and roasty with a slight bitter finish. Not bad but it’s probably a stretch calling it a stout probably more a Dunkel. Overall not bad but lacks character.
