Black color; poor head. Some caramel aroma, more like a Dunkel. Also tastes like a typical Dunkel (forget the Stout!), with some caramel, roasted malt, residual sweetness, low bitterness. Poor. Theydon_Bois (19788) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2012
Bottle at my hotel in Cascais - April ’12.
Pours a mid black colour with a tan brown head that soon departed. Reddish/Brown when held to the light.
Not a lot doing on the nose ! A touch of roasted malt and maybe, just maybe some fruit !!!
Sweet malty in taste not a lot else.
Carbonation OK - easily drinkable and a change from the low grade lagers on offer, but never going to set the world alight. If that were the case this would be a suitable stout to put the fire out!!! saxo (18945) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2006

Dark ruby, almost opaque color. Small coffee head. Aroma is toffee-sweet with some chocolate. Medium-bodied, chocolaty sweet, slightly roasted. Mouthfeel good be fuller. So far, the best Portuguese beer I’ve had.

Looks great, black with a huge dark tan head, fairly persistent. Doesn’t smell stout, this is a lager, right? Fairly nice though, sweetish roast. Some weirdness in taste initially, dodgy esters, but it settles down to a nice roast. Smoothish sweet palate. Gentle deep roast burnt finish. Nice schwarz.
Bottle [thanks Joen for bringing this from holiday!] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Dark brown color with a deep dark red glare coming through, average to medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly dusty, a bit grainy, light brown candy sugar, lightly dark malts, soft to average malt bitter finish. Average body and carbonation. Decent. Bottle in Lisboa. It pours deep ruby with a thick beige head. The nose is soft roast, coffee grinds, toast and cocoa. The taste is watery, earth, toast, roasted malt, cocoa and coffee grinds with a dry finish. Light+ body and average carbonation. Rather thin and no great depth to it. So-so. Bottle. Very dark brown to black-colored with a medium beige-light brown head. Malty aroma with toasted bread, caramel, some roastiness and coffee notes. Sweet caramelly flavor, somewhat sugary, with some vegetal notes, chocolate hints and light sourish touches. Finishes drier with a faint roasty note. Medium-bodied. OK.
