Erg zwart. Ruikt erg doet, wel maar 5%. Beetje branderig, wel prima voor een lichte stout. austinpowers (2828) - New York, New York, USA - APR 11, 2008
Bottle. Bought in Macau. I notice that sugar is one of the ingredients. Thatís pretty unusual. It tastes pretty sweet and isnít all that bocky. Itís only 5%abv. Sticky with lots of malt - itís more like a dunkel or porter. Very enjoyable. Didnít detect much hops. Enjoyed while wandering around Macauís Fortress de Guia. Dark ruby, almost opaque color. Small coffee head. Aroma is toffee-sweet with some chocolate. Medium-bodied, chocolaty sweet, slightly roasted. Mouthfeel good be fuller. So far, the best Portuguese beer Iíve had.
Came across this for 1 euro a bottle in Portuguese mini market at resort. Very pleasant all in all, the wife also liked it. A bit weak on body and not overly complex but a pleasant initial taste and on par with Guinness x x stout IMO. DutchDrebus (5938) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2016
Bottle @ benzai. E150c colour with a small beige head. Smells slightly caramel, slightly chocolate, slightly sweet. Tastes some chocolate, slightly caramel. Simple but decent. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Light chocolat aroma. Dark redish brown color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, light bitter to bitter in the end, roasted, coffee, smooth. Not a stout like I like them in winter (strong, full, heavily flavored) but a very nice one to drink even in summer. DruncanVeasey (8225) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 13, 2008
Cloth bag, Hunstanton. Almost pitch with clinging tan suds. Genuine sweet charcoal, burnt malt, slightly curranty aroma. Milky coffee, chocolate, a chew of dark fruits. The most rounded and serious Iberian interpretation of a dark beer Iíve tasted. If it was a roasty smooth chocolatey English mild Iíd give it at least 3.5, so thatís exactly what itís getting. Against all expectations, a really tasty, well-conditioned beer. kingvit (409) - - MAY 26, 2014
Aroma: coffee, caramel; Appearance: dark brown, foamy head; Taste: slight sourness, slight bitterness; Palate: abrupt finish, soft carbonation, slick texture
Not as great as Koestrizer but a decent Schwarzbier still. McSherman (668) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAR 1, 2015

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2016 From a 330ml bottle on 26/8/2015. Pours a very dark brown with the smallest of heads. Has a moderate but quite distinct chocolate/caramel malt aroma. In the mouth, itís sweet and malty, with lots of chocolate, finishing with a modest bitterness. The palate is slightly creamy and the carbonation average. Imo, this is much better than the ratings suggest. Itís not super complex but itís quite tasty and eminently quaffable. Actually pretty good.
