Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget, September 2012. My first rating from Colombia. Clear very light golden. Sweet with malt, corn and some light notes of honey and butter. Not a beer worth drinking again.

Mezcalmannen (395) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 9, 2012
Clear yellow colour and white head, that was to be expected, wasnt it? Flavour starts out very sweet, but there certainly is a pleasant amount of hops as well that kicks in after a while as well. Grass or straw in the aroma. Better than the the average Latin American lager.

Bottle at Hurricane Club, not sure why Columbia beer is on short list at a Polynesian restaurant. Anyways pours yellow orange with soapy head. Tastes of light white grape, hops, cardboard, grass and pineapple. ok

Wow, a beer from Columbia. I guess that a huge thanks to the LCBO is in order for allowing my to try another piss poor beer. The people in charge of selecting the beers there have some serious issues. The very pale yellow colour is reminiscent of watered down apple juice - not a good start. The corn in the aroma doesnt help either. If you dont have enough ingredients to make a beer, then fucking dont make it. There is a lot of tinfoil going on in the flavour and lots of corn water as well. Very thin mouthfeel with very high carbonation, bloating carbonation. The metal just lingers in the back of your throat making my fillings hurt. If this is the best selling beer in Columbia, Id hate to try the second best. Rubbish right from when I twisted off the cap.

330ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on September 4, 2010.
No date.
