1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
33cl bottle served slightly too warm. Odd punchy nose, some banana in there. Sweet and fruity to taste, almost cloying. Jumbled and not very good.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
330ml bottle (Ancho, Tallinn)
Well, I woke up at 3:50pm, so I presume it was a good new-year’s eve party. It’s now 4:20, so I guess it’s time for a beer to help me sober up. Alas it has to be this. Clear glass and twist-top, this gives me the fucking horn. Stinky sweet aroma. Freaky caramel red. Yucky sweet taste, something completely unidentifiable too. Totally fucking horrible. If 2017 is to be better than 2016, it’s starting off on the wrong foot.

1.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours mid brown with a small off white head. Aroma of malty caramel, with some dark fruits and prune. Quite high sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, texture rather slimy. Finish is sweet with something akin to stewed veg. Didn’t like this very much.

Pours an amber color with a caramel malt aroma and a tad bit skinny. Taste is sweet, with a light bread flavor. Tastier than I expected. Very drinkable with an easy dissipating aftertaste.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep, amber chestnut, bright as bright, with a loose, off-white foam that lasts. Nutty, caramelised and burnt sugars on the nose with a woody, rusty edge. Sweet whilst chilled but sweeter with more depth once it warms. Carbonic acid upfront, light body with a nutty, toasted malt, toasted corn and toffee mid-palate before a little tannins and rust in the back. Woody clap on the swallow and mildly sweet finish. Rather fresh considering it’s close to use-by date and clear bottle. Average drinking, lawnmower beer. (33cL, BB 09/07/15, Pancho’s Mexican, Victoria Park)
