A crisp and smooth dark lager. Has a hint of wine gum like fruit in the background. Alright.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2010 Bottle. A - Clear dark copper color. Fairly large, foamy, bubbly, off-white head. Disappears pretty fast with almost no lace left. S - Toasted nutty/grainy malt. Sweet aroma with a touch of toffee and caramel. Hints of grassy hops and a minerally aroma. T - Similar to the nose with a touch more caramel/toffee sweetness. Initially there is a pretty strong grainy taste that is present throughout. Just a faint hint of hop, primarily grassy flavors. Touch of fruitiness that only adds to the sweetness at the finish. M - Light body with average carbonation. A sweet, dry feel on the finish. D - A little too sweet and drying to be all that drinkable. Not really balanced, just too sweet and malty, but not in an enjoyable way. Notes: Nothing special here. Plenty of grainy and sweet malt. About what I was expecting (maybe a little better given this is a German style from Mexico). Not horrible, but I probably wouldn’t search for this.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits.

DruncanVeasey (8426) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2010
Ruby with a thinning, off-white ring. Sweet, noseable aroma of dried fruits, muscovado and honey. Suggestions of cake, figs, liquorice and chocolate raisin that wouldn’t be out of place in a considerably stronger beer (barley wine, doppelbock or dubbel) of some quality. Having plumbed the depths of industrial Mediterranean ’dark beers’, this was a pleasant surprise when I really wasn’t expecting one.

JFGrind (2074) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2010
Had this @ 3 Monkeys and based on the label thought it was a beer you’d buy @ Aldi. Nothing going on here, slight malts, tinge of bitterness.

Stefano (2047) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 17, 2010
Dark red brown color with a medium white head. Weak malt caramel aroma. Flavor is watery sweet, with a little taste of roasted malts. Low carbonation and a watery aftertaste. Thin palate.

Not as horrible as you might expect from a COMPLETELY CLEAR BOTTLE. I mean, WTF is up with this? Could brown bottles be that much more? More like a Vienna, this is a nice sweet, low alcohol beer that goes well with Mexican food. Pours brown with tan head, slight skunk smell, but some malt sugars in the nose. Has a banana like finish.

EHSRanders (2102) - Tjele, DENMARK - MAR 4, 2010
Bottle. Clear brown colour with large creamy off-white mostly lasting head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel. Sweet flavor.
