2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Pershore Road, Birmingham. Slightly cloudy, not unattractive pale lager which smells faintly of DFS. Crisp, clean, refreshing, some malt, no nasty aftertaste; in fact, hardly any taste at all. My haste and excitement at trying yet another pale lager meant I accidentally poured it straight from the fridge, far too cold, so in mitigation it might be awful after all.
12 oz. bottle from Aldi pours a clear pale golden color with tiny white head that lingers for a minute and leaves no lacing. Aroma is corn and hay. Taste is almost nonexistent, but is on the sweet side with a slightly bitter finish. Body is light with the right amount of carbonation. This was one I avoided before, thinking it was a cheap Corona wannabe. Perhaps it is, but 1) at least it’s from Guatemala, and 2) the bottle says 5.3% ABV Foxbush (2141) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 20, 2017
12 oz bottle. The pale lager poured a clear gold color with small disappearing head and no lacing. Aroma of cooked corn. Light body with average carbonation. Very light beverage not much body. With a lime on the beach in the summer would be its best opportunity for enjoyment. Some sourness after each swallow. LimemyIPA (1) - Owosso, Michigan, USA - FEB 19, 2017 does not count
Thought it would be a cheap knockoff. I actually liked it better. Didn’t need a lime, it’s really smooth and no bitter after taste! 🍻 Chudwick (3426) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - DEC 21, 2016
12oz bottle from Aldi, no date. Nose is grainy corn. Sip adds more of the same. flat. Maris (1612) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JUN 20, 2016
UPDATED: JUN 21, 2016 From a 330ml bottle on 17/6/2016. Pours a light yellow with a modest head. There’s little aroma to speak of, with the usual stale grain and corn typical of this sort of fare. Had bugger all taste, and what’s there provides no pleasure. Light bodied, with average carbonation. A reasonable Corona knock off, but given that Corona’s shite, that’s not much of an endorsement. It is what it is. Put a slice of lime in it, and you can live with it. On the upside, great to have sampled a beer from Guatemala.

Aldi comes through with the country tick. Very pale yellow with a fast fading white head. Unpromising aroma of cardboard, cooked corn, some lemon - actually the vegies clear off to a degree after a bit. Watery. Moderate carbonation. Bland but not as messy as suggested by the aroma, some grass and lemon. Bitterness is low but detectable. Picked up a fair bit after a shocking first sniff. Taste: Bitter, fermented grainy sharp. Mellow nose.
Lite Gold and crystal clear, with a delicate white lace to the head. Lite body with a crisp bite for a hot day. obguthr (6829) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - APR 1, 2016
Very beany and shitty aroma. Clear golden, medium head. Dry hay. Light body, moderate carbonation. Standard macro swill, but bonus point for being only 3.9% ABV. thestumps (2) - topeka, Alabama, USA - MAR 2, 2016 does not count
Awful beer, couldn’t drink it. Saved it for steaming seafood. Seriously, just totally disappointed in it. Very bad beer, nothing like Corona. Terrible. Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 1, 2016
Pale yellow pour. Very sweet aroma of grass and straw. Flavor is very sweet. Light flavors of grass straw, sugar, water.
