020616. Lager on can not Pilsner but I’m pretty sure it is the same beer. This is more like the usual Mexican beer I am used to trying - a pale lager that is every bit the pale lager. I guess that for $4.00 you can’t really expect too much and that is about what I got with this beer from Malt Traders.
Light straw colour in the glass with a big white meringue head of foam that rises above the beer and hangs around for awhile. The beer tasted as I expected it would so I can’t really say that I was disappointed with it, especially since I pretty much knew what I would be getting.
Light in the mouth with wet straw and grain flavour, not quite up the the level of poor flavour to be offensive but not that far off it. The body of this beer is thin and watery, again this was to be expected so I shouldn’t really complain.
In the right circumstances I could see that this beer mIght be appealing, say if you were stuck in the Mexican desert and you came across a place selling this beer you would probably think that it was the best beer in the world. TedE (1332) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 23, 2015
355ml can into glass. Says ’lager ’not pilsener but identical otherwise. Sweet corn chemical nose. Pours with a massive white foam head. Slightly hazy yellow with a few trailing bubbles. Tastes of cardboard, and old cardboard at that. Strange sour aftertaste that becomes aspirin bitter. Weird and unpleasant. Ngejo (979) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - DEC 7, 2014
Can. Pale, clear, frothy, white foam, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, fizzy, & astringent finish. ALLOVATE (3015) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 6, 2013
Yellow gold with soda-pop carbonation and grossly lacking in the head department. Rice pudding, apple pulp and creamed corn nose with a subtle manky fruit peel note. Similar in taste. Very starchy with fruit esters that have run amok of what I’d imagine their goal ’beer’ was. Featherweight body with a sprightly effervescence. Dry, crisp and short in the finish (Thanks!!). Soapy lather upon the tongue seems harmful. No hops, a fleeting touch of sun-drenched grain seems a hidden reward for drinking, Nothing to like here. Can’t say the heat of Mexico would call for beers of such low-strung calibre. I just couldn’t continue. BAD! 12oz bottle in a footed pilsener. Pours light golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of pale malts and light hops. Flavor the same, with a little tin in the finish. Average to light texture. Not bad but not great.

The colour of this can is bronze, head is white. Plenty of malts on the nose, biscuits and light fruits as well. I like the flavour, it has a strong malt base and a good tantalizing finish were the hops come out, pretty good this one. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Pours light golden with a thin off-white head. Notes of sweet pale malt, biscuit, and light herbs. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. shrubber85 (11408) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - APR 11, 2012
Bottle. Slightly sweet barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with large white head. Slightly sweet barley malt and light hint of herbal hops. No bad flavors - a decent enough beer, just not much there. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 12, 2011
Bottle: Clean gold color with a sturdy white head. Solid toasty flavor with a light crisp bitterness and limey freshness. Nice clean finish, full flavored mouthfeel. Tasty! Nekronos (4175) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 22, 2011
Surprise, surprise. Not another awful mexican lager. I would had bet it was going to be disgusting. BUt it has very nice features: color, yeast, hops’ aroma. Very nice aftertaste and awesome shape.
