Clear, dark, reddish/amber. Little to no head and little to no lacing. What head that was present was only the slightest off white. Several bubbles coming up from the bottom. Faint roasted malt with an almost freshly stripped tobacco smell. As the beer warmed, some roasted or toasted grain came through. Roasted and toasted breadiness in the taste. Sort of a roasted malt, but not sweet. Medium to light mouthfeel. Somewhat watery and didn’t leave a lot on the palate. It is smooth and did go down easy. Even and crisp. This beer was just Ok in my opinion. Nothing horrible, but nothing outstanding either. It’s decently drinkable. Better than a macro for sure. I could drink a few. adnielsen (10601) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 14, 2010
Tasted from a 12 oz. bottle purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Pours a quite dark brown body and a thick cream-black head. Burnt brownish head and a burnt flavor. Decent. bhensonb (15077) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 11, 2010
Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins, CO. Pours dark amber with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Smells like roast malt, but kind of like schwarzbier - but sweetish. Medium minus body with foamy carbonation. It’s sweet malt, lightly roasted, and not much like a schwarzbier. Maybe a bit like bock. ???? I give up. Ok drink, but not one I’d repeat deliberately. Six pack from Tiffanies. Medium dark amber pour with a thin head. Aroma has hints of tasted malt and a slight vegetal funk that combine to create a sour, teaberry-ish aroma that reminds me of the old old Frankenmuth beer from the 70’s. Flavor is a mixture of roasted malts, sweet corn, and teaberry. Grassy hops that create a dry finish with a bit of misplaced bitterness. This really does remind me of the old Frankenmuth brew - something I haven’t thought about for decades. Thanks for the memories. Tmoney99 (14365) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2010
Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Above average beer worth trying agian.
