Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins, CO. Pours dark amber with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Smells like roast malt, but kind of like schwarzbier - but sweetish. Medium minus body with foamy carbonation. It’s sweet malt, lightly roasted, and not much like a schwarzbier. Maybe a bit like bock. ???? I give up. Ok drink, but not one I’d repeat deliberately. Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Above average beer worth trying agian.

Bottle. Chocolate and barley malt aroma. Medium brown color with giant tan head. Lightly sweet chocolate malt flavor with hint of hops. Okay - pretty light though. cubs (10745) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 14, 2010
Tasted from a 12 oz. bottle purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Pours a quite dark brown body and a thick cream-black head. Burnt brownish head and a burnt flavor. Decent. Braudog (6944) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JAN 2, 2011
Bottle. Poured with an airy pile of white foam on top, reddish/brown underneath. The aroma is full-on sugary maltiness. This drinks with the same big sweet toffee character, as if this was 100% malt. (#4056, 1/2/2011)

Murky..., dark brown with a small beige head.
Caramel, toasted bread, chocolate scent.
Taste is sweet, but a little bready.....caramel/chocolate malts.
Surprisingly rich.....a bit stale.....I’d guess I’d up my score with a more fresh sample....not too bad, really. stevoj (5963) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 4, 2014
Nice malty aroma and pleasant appearance, but it falls flat after that. taste is watery and bland, very abrupt finish, slightly metallic. Just malt taste, that’s it, was hoping for better. BückDich (5477) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 12, 2011
Bottle: Dark pellucid brown color with a nice white head. The nose is toasty with nuts and dark malts, crisp and roasty with a light chewy almond quality. Clean and fresh with a light roasty underlayer and a mild body with a refreshing finish. Nice dark lager (vienna?) with a sweet toasty finish. jkwood04 (5474) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 27, 2012
12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours ruby/copper with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel malts, a little bit of toffee/nuts, and some light hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2016
Dark amber with a big foamy head. Flavor is dark malt, with a little spice. Medium body. Not bad save for the slightly metallic finish, but what do you expect from 75 year old steel tanks recycled from the United States deep into mexico.
