12oz bottle from trader joes. Nice dark brown leather in the glass. Toasty crust flavor almost like slightly burnt pizza crust but in a good way. Also there is some dried fruit notes, dates & raisins, as it warms up. Clean toasty malt aroma but nothing exciting. Overall, i didn’t have much hope for this but it surprised me... Not bad, not bad at all. Nekronos (4213) - Xalapa, MEXICO - APR 22, 2011
Just awesome. It was mor elike a schwartz bier mixed with a keller one. These guys made an excellent job with this. Shape, aroma, aftertaste, head, everything. TheBeerOrg (2145) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Bottle from Liquor Barn Springhurst. Pours dark brown with a thin off-white head. Notes of toasted malt, bready, lightly sweet caramel, light roast undertones. Medium bodied, lightly sweet with soft carbonation. Much better than I was expecting, I’d like to try it again. Shrews629 (193) - Kentucky, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Clear, dark, reddish/amber. Little to no head and little to no lacing. What head that was present was only the slightest off white. Several bubbles coming up from the bottom. Faint roasted malt with an almost freshly stripped tobacco smell. As the beer warmed, some roasted or toasted grain came through. Roasted and toasted breadiness in the taste. Sort of a roasted malt, but not sweet. Medium to light mouthfeel. Somewhat watery and didn’t leave a lot on the palate. It is smooth and did go down easy. Even and crisp. This beer was just Ok in my opinion. Nothing horrible, but nothing outstanding either. It’s decently drinkable. Better than a macro for sure. I could drink a few. jkwood04 (5472) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 27, 2012
12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours ruby/copper with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel malts, a little bit of toffee/nuts, and some light hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with light to medium sweet finish of short to moderate duration. Above average beer worth trying agian.

Bottle: Dark pellucid brown color with a nice white head. The nose is toasty with nuts and dark malts, crisp and roasty with a light chewy almond quality. Clean and fresh with a light roasty underlayer and a mild body with a refreshing finish. Nice dark lager (vienna?) with a sweet toasty finish. Murky..., dark brown with a small beige head.
Caramel, toasted bread, chocolate scent.
Taste is sweet, but a little bready.....caramel/chocolate malts.
Surprisingly rich.....a bit stale.....I’d guess I’d up my score with a more fresh sample....not too bad, really. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 4, 2016
Dark amber with a big foamy head. Flavor is dark malt, with a little spice. Medium body. Not bad save for the slightly metallic finish, but what do you expect from 75 year old steel tanks recycled from the United States deep into mexico. bhensonb (15985) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 11, 2010
Bottle from Supermarket Liquors in Fort Collins, CO. Pours dark amber with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Smells like roast malt, but kind of like schwarzbier - but sweetish. Medium minus body with foamy carbonation. It’s sweet malt, lightly roasted, and not much like a schwarzbier. Maybe a bit like bock. ???? I give up. Ok drink, but not one I’d repeat deliberately.
