living in Honduras for over 30 years, Salva Vida has always been my favorite!

Bottle from North Gate: Liquid appeared pale gold light looking beer typical of domestic "LITE" beers. Small soapy head that fizzed out quickly leaving the lite lager naked. The nose is faint and smells of typical adjuncts found in all cheaply made beers in the same style both imported and made in America. The taste is boring and bland but drinking it from the bottle instead of a cup taste better.

Pours golden with a rich hue and a frothy white head with surprising size and longevity. The aroma is pretty good mineral water and some bitterness when the beer is cold but then turns gummy. The flavor starts with adjunct sweet grain, as expected, but this is pleasantly squashed by a welcome bitterness. Too bad the flavor gets a little gummy too as the beer warms.

Bottle thanks to Robert Dale. Pours pale yellow with white head. Nose and taste of corn chips, tin metal, harsh grains and sweet corn. A bit offensive and harsh on the palate. Light bodied.

Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 19, 2014
Bottle from Cavie... ... ... Super light pour with a small white head. Aroma is cigarettes and corn. Taste is about the same. Agh.

Bottle from CM. Drank straight from the bottle. Aroma was slightly skunky, grainy, cardboard. Flavor is grainy, grassy, bitter metal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle "thanks" to BoostIPA. very clear yellow with minimal white head. holy corn! some sorta weird rice smell in there too. I think some DMS? taste is sickening sweet with no hop bitterness or flavor. Holy cow, this wouldn’t even be good on a hot summer day. Thanks, bro!

Appearance: clear light gold with one finger of creamy, bright white that lingers quite a bit as it shrinks to a fat collar. Aroma: meh. Taste: meh. Finish: meh. Notes: Other than the appearance, this is a typical sh*tty adjunct lager whose primary selling point was that it afforded me the opportunity to put a pin in my beer map for Honduras. A "life saver" it is not.

(11/28) The aroma was below average and the taste was nothing special. I drank this at Mahogany Bay.

Bottle @ Guadalupana. Gold, hardly any head. The nose is general grains, corn, some apple. Sugar. The taste is typical of a LEDC pale lager. Paper, more apple. Grain. Mild skunk. Light body, moderate carbonation. Actually not as bad as I was afraid it might be. Overall, the best Honduran beer I’ve ever had!
