Old 504, named after the original Louisiana statewide phone area code, is a Coffee-infused Vanilla Robust Porter that provides a well rounded, full bodied beer with an incredible aroma that compliments its’ smooth coffee & vanilla taste. Its’ subtle hop character allows the roasted barley flavor to shine throughout.

Draft at Jax brewhouse,. Dark brown, little thin in the mouth feel. Good aroma, some will say it us a touch sweet, overall a solid beer.

Bottle - nice brown pour and medium head. Nice aroma of vanilla beans and chocolate. Picked up on the chocolate taste first and then the vanilla. Medium body and silky smooth finish. Excellent beer. I would definitely have another one of these.

On tap downstairs at the Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar. Brown/black appearance with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malts, vanilla, coffee and light roast. Similar flavor, rich, dark, malty and moderately sweet. Medium body with a thin feel. Nice porter overall.

bottle @ Calandro’s / Baton Rouge LA --- Another old brew from Calandro’s (#5) --- Clear very deep mahogany, tan head that explodes. I’ve been waiting for 5 minutes, and me 12 oz glass now has 1" of beer and 8" of out-of-control foam. Big lace globs. Taste is skunky malt. That about covers it all. Once again, if a brewer doesn’t want bad ratings from old beer, get it off the shelf before I pay for it, particularly if there is no date stamp.

Pours a very dark brown with a nice-sized light tan head. Excessive vanilla nose. Flavor is over-the-top vanilla. No coffee noted.
