Draft: Strong garlic aroma, lemon also present. Cloudy golden, headless. Bready lemon, very light banana. Stale malt. Thin mouthfeel. A swing and a miss. The local water must not be ideal for weizen beers. It’s the one style that is particularly weak in my area, much to my chagrin. Emeister84 (2505) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Banana, clove, and pear on the nose. Hazy, pale gold, with white head, low retention. Tastes moderately sweet, with a light tartness, and an even lighter bitterness. Light-medium bodied, fluffy carbonation, finishes dry and bready. Not a bad Bavarian-style wheat, but I’m used to a bit more noble hop character coming through. Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy straw-lemon color with a medium sized head. Decent head retention. Aroma of dry wheat, dry citrus and a sweet finish. The taste is wheat, big citrus notes mild spice and mild herbal hops. Medium bodied.
