ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBev’s three breweries. The recipe was changed to include rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version. It is sold as 5.5% abv in some markets.
"With its attractive taste and a price that appealed to consumers at all levels, the response and success of Chang marked a new era and turned a new page for the Thai beer industry. In 1998 Beer Chang was awarded the “Gold Medallion” at the International Beer Competition in Australia in the category of “Lager, Unlimited Degree”.

Sampled at ThaiParadise. A typical drinkable lager. Malty and heavily carbonated. I would not seek this out but goes well with the spicy food.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 golden yellow with a white head. Aroma is rice or another adjunct filler. taste is light and fizzy. reminds me of a Coors Light. not an artisanal beer, but a solid macrobrew.

Fles, Te veel een onvoldoende doorgebrouwen lager; ruikt en smaakt te weinig en te moutig. Slap en weinig zeggend. Maar ja, je drinkt het natuurlij wel in het Thaise restaurant...

Available in cans and bottles in convenience stores around Thailand. Same as Leo, hardly worth writing up. Musty, damp carboard. Drink it if you must, the colder the better. Pay a little extra and stick with Singha.

I had hoped for a better beer for my 1000th review ... but there you go. Pretty standard bottom-tier pilsner. A bit sweet and low on hops. Boring but refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in Pai, Thailand. Golden color, white head. Pretty common lager, refreshing but not special

Inoven (1041) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2017
Flesje thuis gedronken.

500ml. In a Jug pint. I thought and assumed I'd rated this beer. Rich likes Thai lady-boys. This Thai beer isn't too bad, and I appreciate a badly made Asian lager moore than most nerds here as my higher than average rates for subcontinent piss lager would suggest..I think in retrospect , this Thai lager would be decent drinking if I were actually in humid Thailand where fermented goat water would be refreshing. Or watching some Thai kickboxing..u know, when you want soulless beer you don't think about consciously. Flavours of grain, bready malts, cardboard ,pennies, shitty hops. Some definite skunk from the green bottle.

How did this wine a gold medal? This is standard pale lager fare and whilst it won't (can't) offend it doesn't in anyway standard from the heaving sea of macro lager. Less overtly adjunct-driven than Leo (for example) but still clearly shows this character. A little sharpness late which almost feels a little acidic but in fact probably helps with the structure and indeed may well help pair with spicy food.
