Domestic product, retired in Summer 2015.
ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBevs three breweries. The recipe of Chang Beer was changed to include rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version. It is sold as 5.5% abv in some markets.
Chang was made with the vision of the top executives to expand the beer market with a Thai taste albeit with international quality, to give the consumers an alternative with the fervent belief in the brewing and production capability of the Thais. With its attractive taste and a price that appealed to consumers at all levels, the response and success of Beer Chang marked a new era and turned a new page for the Thai beer industry. In 1998 Beer Chang was awarded the Gold Medallion at the International Beer Competition in Australia in the category of Lager, Unlimited Degree. Since then, Beer Chang has become known as the international Gold Medallion winner beer of Thailand. Note: alcohol content may vary

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2013 From a 330 ml can brought back from Thailand from a coworker when she visited. Pours a golden yellow color with a thick white head with pretty good lacing for a lager. Smells of pale malt, rice, honey, Tastes of all the same things with a decent hop presence for a lager. Can?t even taste the 6.4 abv. Mouthfeel is light and creamy and pretty well carbonated. Overall this is a pretty good foreign lager. Better than thier competition Singha for sure.

Tm versio suoraan Thaimaasta, 6.4%. Vaaleankeltainen olut kohtalaisella valkoisella vaahdolla, joka jtt aavistuksen pitsi. Maltainen ja viljainen, aika pitklle peruslagermainen ja hieman makea tuoksu. Maku maltainen, viljainen, asteen verran normilageria vahvempi. Oiva janojuoma ja varmasti hyv tulinen ruoan kaveri.

Dorata pallida, schiuma bianca non molto persistente. Aroma di malti chiari, fieno, metallico ed erbaceo. Al palato stesse componenti, corpo medio-leggero, mediamente carbonata.

From 330ml bottle. Clean, clear yellow lager. A bit high on the abv for my taste. Not my first choice for a pale lager

Very pale yellow and clear. White foam. Lager aroma. Very light and sweet. No bitterness at all. Fair carbonation. Bad.

Pours clear yellow. Head dissipates immediately. Aroma of wet grain and dried corn. Tastes like silage with a sweet backbone. Finish is dry. Medium light mouthfeel. Similar to any light domestic, nothing worthy of note.

Clear pale yellow body and minimal head. Nose has malts and hay-like aromas. Taste is sweetish with a mildly dry finish and a metallic note. Carbonation and mouthfeel are medium. Basic light lager,, nothing special.

Eines der besseren Thaibiere und mit 6% auch geschmacklich etwas erwachsener und weniger wssrig. Malzig-bitter im Geschmack, leichter Reis-Nachgeschmack (aber immerhin berhaupt mal einer).

Can, 6.0%. The good old sour grain aroma. Clear golden colour. Small frothy chalk white head. The flavour is surprisingly malty and does not have much of the graininess of the aroma. Also has a little alcohol punch, but no more than expected for the ABV. Decent for the style.

Can, 6.0% @ The Unholy Trinity Meets Again, Snderborg. Pours clear golden with small white head. Clear aroma of yeast and inferiror malt, with notes of hops. Sweetish flavour of malt and yeast, with some hoppy notes and touches of fart. Acetic hints, especially in the aftertaste, which is otherwise estery and slightly bitter. Drinkable but just that.

Clear, light golden. Fluffy white head. Grainy cereal aroma. Malty flavour with citric bitterness. Rather watery but with the bitterness turning stronger - and more rough - later on.
