COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Domestic product, retired in Summer 2015.
ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBev’s three breweries. The recipe of Chang Beer was changed to include rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version. It is sold as 5.5% abv in some markets.
Chang was made with the vision of the top executives to expand the beer market with a Thai taste albeit with international quality, to give the consumers an alternative with the fervent belief in the brewing and production capability of the Thais. With its attractive taste and a price that appealed to consumers at all levels, the response and success of Beer Chang marked a new era and turned a new page for the Thai beer industry. In 1998 Beer Chang was awarded the “Gold Medallion” at the International Beer Competition in Australia in the category of “Lager, Unlimited Degree”. Since then, Beer Chang has become known as “the international Gold Medallion winner beer of Thailand”. Note: alcohol content may vary

11.15 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured a pale yellow, clear and with a thick white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is almost not existent, some hint of yeast (bread) and a bit of malts. Taste is also quite dull not much to it, some sweetness and slight bitterness towards the end. Just another beer made with the purpose of being a refreshing beverage in a warm weather and in that sense it does serves it’s purpose.

absolutely gutted to find out that this thai-domestic beer has been discontinued, yet at the same time glad to see that the poor chang export has also gone the way of the dodo. i will have to try the "new" chang classic. anyways, chang 6.4% is/was a phenomenal, malt-heavy brewery with a slightly overpowering alcoholic kick. chilled down to ridiculous proportions and imbibed in the thai heat however, you could go through it like water. very tasty, for a.) a lager and b.) for its strength. RIP.

Tämä versio suoraan Thaimaasta, 6.4%. Vaaleankeltainen olut kohtalaisella valkoisella vaahdolla, joka jättää aavistuksen pitsiä. Maltainen ja viljainen, aika pitkälle peruslagermainen ja hieman makea tuoksu. Maku maltainen, viljainen, asteen verran normilageria vahvempi. Oiva janojuoma ja varmasti hyvä tulinen ruoan kaveri.

Dorata pallida, schiuma bianca non molto persistente. Aroma di malti chiari, fieno, metallico ed erbaceo. Al palato stesse componenti, corpo medio-leggero, mediamente carbonata.

From 330ml bottle. Clean, clear yellow lager. A bit high on the abv for my taste. Not my first choice for a pale lager

Very pale yellow and clear. White foam. Lager aroma. Very light and sweet. No bitterness at all. Fair carbonation. Bad.

euniceradio (562) - Worthington, Minnesota, USA - APR 3, 2015
Pours clear yellow. Head dissipates immediately. Aroma of wet grain and dried corn. Tastes like silage with a sweet backbone. Finish is dry. Medium light mouthfeel. Similar to any light domestic, nothing worthy of note.

Moebbels (817) - FINLAND - MAR 24, 2015
Clear pale yellow body and minimal head. Nose has malts and hay-like aromas. Taste is sweetish with a mildly dry finish and a metallic note. Carbonation and mouthfeel are medium. Basic light lager,, nothing special.

Can, 6.0%. The good old sour grain aroma. Clear golden colour. Small frothy chalk white head. The flavour is surprisingly malty and does not have much of the graininess of the aroma. Also has a little alcohol punch, but no more than expected for the ABV. Decent for the style.

Bamsen78 (5562) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 7, 2015
Can, 6.0% @ The Unholy Trinity Meets Again, Sønderborg. Pours clear golden with small white head. Clear aroma of yeast and inferiror malt, with notes of hops. Sweetish flavour of malt and yeast, with some hoppy notes and touches of fart. Acetic hints, especially in the aftertaste, which is otherwise estery and slightly bitter. Drinkable but just that.
