UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 Virkelig god aroma: funky og frisk. Smagen er syrlig og minder om æblejuice. Ikke videre kompleks.

2014 375 ml bottle poured into a lambic glass. The beer is a clear yellow with a white head. Good head retention. The aroma has a strong lemon juice character with supporting aspects of cracker and floral notes. Thoroughly sour. Light body and medium to high carbonation. Pretty good overall, but not as complex as some other Geuezes.

Drinking this was a weird experience. First smell and taste was great, but when I added some of the bottom yeast later on in the tasting, the beer became disgusting. At first, a lot of funk in aroma and taste. Horse blanket, very herbal, dandelions and flowers. After adding a tad of the bottom of the bottle: a muddle, undrinkable.

Robe dorée, mousse abondante. Nez sur des notes acidulés et balsamiques, sur un fond hydrocarburé, assez simple. Bouche à l'attaque acidulée et épicée, qui manque aussi un peu de complexité.

the aroma of sour fruits, rather bright, with shades of yeast and apple vinegar... the taste is rather sour with notes of yeast, sour orange, lemon, key lime, apple vinegar and some spices... sour and tart aftertaste...

Cloudy honey yellow pour. Huge airy head. Acidic nose with additional wild yeast, tart fruit. Light body. Medium to heavy sour taste. Fruity. Straw. Tart ending of apple peel. Enourmously refreshing. This is a plain gueuze. Bad it is by no means.

Funky apple aroma. Some lovely barnyard scents. Taste is sour and lightly bitter.

2014 bottle. Face-splittingly sour, starting with a modest pilsner malt grassiness that stays on the palate for, oh, .000007 seconds before the ultra-tart citric craziness kicks in and scours your tongue with bright lemon acidity and bready yeastiness. Finishes with a slight grainy undertone and traces of floral bitterness and salt. Good, but a bit too assertive, with the sourness overshadowing every other aspect of the brew, leaving it rather one-note.

375 ml capped and corked green bottle, as Cuvee Chapeau, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Golden colour, large white head. Lovely aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, horse stable, lemons and herbs. Very sour and tart flavour, lemons and brettanomyces galore, astringent.

Solid sour style beer. Nothing overwhelming or too exciting or different, but a nice easy drink. Would recommend for a backyard BBQ or tailgate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
